Hi great nurses in the House. I am proud to be called a Nurse because we are in-charge, we save life, in other words i can say we are soul keeper or soul savers but i taught on some questions,
1. Am i so professional that i got lives saved?
2. what happens when lost a responding patient?
3. what happens when the miraculous happens?
I began Thinking on this few questions and at last i got the Answer that great nurses are made by God. And i can boldly say GOD IN THE NURSE IS ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Whats your view on this?
I'm not discouraging anyone from having faith, but I truly believe that sometimes it is best to find a separation between God and health. It is easy to proclaim it was "God's work", "God's plan" or a"Miracle from God" when something good happens with our patients, ourselves, or our family. But what about when something doesn't go well? I don't think that any God would plan for anyone to suffer, and as many of us know or may have experienced first hand, some do. Some people suffer tremendously for years before passing a not peaceful death, sometimes of pain and agony. If God plans for someone to live, or it was a miracle sent by God that they did, why didn't God do it for all the people who didn't survive?
It also takes away from the work that we do as health care professionals. Was someone saved by just an act of God, or were they saved because we promptly started life support (or insert other life saving measure)?
The topic of needing to have faith to be a good nurse is just really unfair. And I would just like to point out that not all of those who have faith in God (or other beliefs) are good caring people. There are countless examples of people doing uncaring and even horrific things in the name of God(s).
There are a lot of things that make one a great nurse that come before God on the list. If thats an important attribute for YOU to have PERSONALLY that is great, but it doesn't make you better or less than anyone else. Just like not having faith or a different faith makes any of us any better or worse.
I'm sure your intentions with this post were not to cause others to feel disrespected, but we need to treat each other with the same respect and dignity that we would our patients and it isn't our place to judge our patients on their religion, lifestyle choices, and what not.

When you come to post in threads such as this, you do not need to agree but you do need to be respectful of the views of others.
Since some members are forgetting their manners like children instead of professionals, I will use a quote from Thumper in the movie "Bambi".
"If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all."
Maybe OP cleaned up his/her writing skills because she was initially criticized for them. There are such things as autocorrect and spell/grammar check.
I think I know what the OP meant by her post and here is my interpretation. OP was saying for her personally, God has set her practice apart from ordinary to exemplary. I get it. I'm a Christian. I have days where everyone gets on my nerves and I am about one patient's snarky remark or lazy coworker away from going off on someone. But I have noticed that when I pray to my God a.k.a. Jesus, I find strength to carry on and take care of my patients and coworkers selflessly with a better attitude. Obviously, OP's post did not come across to some as that, and I get that. But I do think that this was what he or she meant.
And I greatly admire those who risk being murdered for their religion. There is great danger to Christians in many parts of the world right now due to groups attempting to annihilate them. The bible discusses many times how Christians will be persecuted and I can tell you right now many of these posts are forms of persecution. I have been made fun of and been on the bad end of a joke due to my confession of faith more than once. I understand not everyone is a Christian and I do not believe I am any better than anyone because of my faith. But just like you have your beliefs, OP has hers and I have mine, and it is not professional or kind to make snide remarks because of it.
If the OP meant to say that he or she feels they are a better nurse with the grace of his/her God, then he or she should have said that instead of stating nurses with God are better. One is specific to the writer, one is a false blanket assumption that is very insulting to non-Christian nurses.
I'm not willing to give a Christian a pass on poor behavior because somewhere in the world they are being murdered d/t their religion. Witches are being murdered in parts of Africa by Christians. Muslims are being murdered by all sorts of groups. Bad behavior by some does not excuse your own.
Also, nowhere, NOWHERE, in this thread has persecution been displayed. That is a horrible use of the word and a gross example of the whiny victim mindset I am so tired of seeing on threads like this.
Ciao.
Persecution: hostility and ill-treatment, especially because of race or political or religious beliefs. It was displayed and it still is. And I have never had a whiny victim mindset. My life has been hard and I have hit every road block I could have imagined but my faith in God carried me through it. I have never whined or cried to anyone except God, and he answered me every single time.
It seems anytime I post anything God-related to my Christian beliefs I am on the defense because someone is trying to prove me wrong. Like I said, you have your beliefs and I have mine. I am not disrespecting anyone and as a professional I expect other nurses to not disrespect me. Denying that anyone has displayed negative, destructive behavior just because you didn't feel the effects of it is like saying racism doesn't exist because I've never seen it.
Thank you for saying this. I think too many people feel entitled to unload their anti-God feelings on other people, and they really shouldn't be allowed to do so in the spirituality forum.
How are we supposed to know it's in the spirituality forum? I NEVER visit that forum. That said it is a spirituality forum, not a Christians only forum.

Out of curiosity, where should these type of discussions be held? If only one point of view is allowed then there is no point in having a forum.
You have the absolute right to have your faith and to write about it and to agree with others about it, but....... others then have the right to disagree, or to have different opinions. I am atheist, this is well known, but I object to anyone's opinion that I am without spirituality because of it.
