Ok I am in NW ohio. I am 35 and I have been an LPN for 5yrs now, all in LTC. First in geriatrics and now with MRDD. I have been married to the perfect man for 20 yrs in Jan. We have 2 boys the oldest is 19 and lives with his girlfriend and my grandson who is now 2and1/2 months old. My youngest is 16 and lives here at home he is physically and mentally handicapped but an angel none the less. Now for a recipe..........Simple pasta alfredo: Soften together 2TBS of butter with 1pkg cream cheese add 1/2c of parmesan cheese and enough milk to make it the consistency you prefer toss with cooked pasta. This and a simple salad and my family is happy. Who is next???

Angelbear,

You seem so kind, I've noticed this in your posts.

I'm 33, married with 2 boys, ages 7 and 12.

We are hating to see summer come to an end at our house. We went to Wyandot Lake today and Old Man's Caves earlier this week.

I work on a tele/medical floor, plus we seem to get all the pts the other floors don't want.

Your posts always seem so insightful. I imagine you are a mentor to all of people!

Suzypee,

Nice to meet you. I hope to get to know you better.

Buddha,

I haven't read alot of your posts. Do you have boys or girls.

Marieeeee

I enjoy your posts.

Welcome it's nice to find out so many fellow posters are from Ohio. (or maybe it's scary)

I copied this over from the other thread.

I'm not much of a cook, but sometimes we make grilled cheese sandwichs with provolone cheese, pepperoni and pizza sauce.

Tasty and all kids love them.

Hi Heynurse,

I worked in LTC for 10 years as an LPN before getting my RN 2 years ago. Maybe we've met. I live in southeastern Ohio also.

Hi all... I just posted in the intro thread, but I'll post here as well.

33 y/o, married w/ a 13 y/o daughter. I work full-time at a friend's store and go to school evenings. Just started working toward a nursing degree this past March. So far, I'm loving it. Hoping to continue on & get a BSN after I finish my associates at the local community college & then on to get a masters, hopefully to eventually become a CRNA.

A recipe, eh? Well, since I've been in school, my idea of a recipe is calling Papa Johns or Donatos. :D

Living North of Dayton...about 15 miles away from where I grew up. :)

38 year old going for RN degree, this will be my third career (I finally decided what I want to do when I grow up)! My daughter is 20 and goes to school in Chicago, husband #2 has been devoted for 8 years. I am so excited about all of the chalenges and opportunities that await me in the upcoming years. I plan on continuing with my education once I've completed this step through becoming a nurse practitioner. We will see where the path God puts in front of me leads.

Reside in central Ohio with the husband and two very spoiled beagles.

Hi Noney, we may have met before..this world is very small sometimes...

I will start my pre-reqs in the fall and am very excited to start!!

ok this is going pretty well but apparently most nurses are just like me and seldom cook. So if you dont have a favorite recipe tell us your favorite television show and why you like it. I will start Anyday now on lifetime-i admire and envy the friendship between Rene and M.E. and the show does not shy away from the heavy topics. Who's Next??

Fave tv show? Hmmmm....I've got so many...

I really love Scrubs - it never fails to get me laughing

CSI - the original one, not the one in Miami (ick)

Crossing Jordan

The Simpsons

The Family Guy - it's on Cartoon Network at 11pm. I loved it when it was on regular tv too & was glad to see it on CN now. Baby Stewie CRACKS ME UP

Sportscenter on ESPN - what can I say...I'm a sports nut.

Baseball Tonight on ESPN - Especially a baseball nut. ;)

Good Eats - on Food Network. Alton Brown is too cool.

ER - watched it from the beginning. Still like it.

Of course I don't get to watch all these all the time...but when they're on & I'm able, I'm there. :)

I'm a new nurse 2003..woohoo.. although I've been in the medical field for over 20 yrs. I finally had the time and energy to get a nursing degree and I'm taking classes towards a Bachelors.

I have 3 great sons, 14, 15 and 20, very handsome. They keep me busy with sports..football, baseball, track.. etc..

I have 2 sisters who are RN's so we share stories and that's fun:)

I really like having a place for just OHIO Nurses ;) :balloons:
