Ok I am in NW ohio. I am 35 and I have been an LPN for 5yrs now, all in LTC. First in geriatrics and now with MRDD. I have been married to the perfect man for 20 yrs in Jan. We have 2 boys the oldest is 19 and lives with his girlfriend and my grandson who is now 2and1/2 months old. My youngest is 16 and lives here at home he is physically and mentally handicapped but an angel none the less. Now for a recipe..........Simple pasta alfredo: Soften together 2TBS of butter with 1pkg cream cheese add 1/2c of parmesan cheese and enough milk to make it the consistency you prefer toss with cooked pasta. This and a simple salad and my family is happy. Who is next???

28 y/o with 3 children. 9yr old daughter and 3 yr old twin boys.

I live in Portsmouth, blink and you miss it. I am a new LPN./LVN as of August 11. I work part time through a Home Health Agency but, would like to become and Independent Provider but, not sure how to go about it. If any one knows..please let me know!!! I am thinking about attending school next year to continue on to RN but, not so sure after taking the PN boards!!!!

Lets see...as for a recipe. it would have to be sauce for lasagna.....mix hamburger with water...(it makes it finer) cook it of course and drain. add 1 can of tomato paste, 1 can of tomato soup and 1 can of water. mix and simmer. add a little sugar if it is too tomatoey???

Dont do much cooking..just simple stuff to make my life a little easier...

Hey, First in line, I am in Ironton!!! Guess we are neighbors!I am also an LPN, and I am going to Shawnee for RN! Small world isn't it.:D

Hello I moved to southeastern Ohio four years ago was involved with a relationship that just went pur o dee bad. Well, anyway I am now single mom with four daughters two of which reside in Illinois my home state., The other two or living with me however, they both are of age. Thank God!!!! I have been a nurse for sixteen years and LPN. I am now looking for a bridge program to become and RN. If any of you know of one I would appreciate the info. I do agency nursing out of Colombus which is quite a drive from where I reside. But oh well as we know life is not easy !!. My favorite recipe is to make it home to at least see my daughters for a time once and a while. I have a goal to make friends in this lifetime something I was denied for the past 20 years to do this would make my life complete. Someone to have lunch and talk with.

I am 36 years old. Mother of two beautiful girls, 16 and 3. The love of my life.

Working long-term care for three years. I really love it. But we have no respect for each other in my unit, so I am moving to another unit soon.

I grew up all over the United States so I can't say I have lived in any certain area. I grew up in the U.S.A.

My quick recipe for all you struggling moms, or need a fast different "sloppy joe"....brown your hamburger, ground chuck, some kind of beef, drain it, and add one can of cream of mushroom or country fried gravy with one small container of french onion dip and a little bit of milk if it looks to thick. Mix it all together in a big pan and let it simmer for about 10 minutes or how ever long it takes to get someone to set the table for you, and put it on bread, buns or even biscuits. I like Grands, they fill them up more. If you have time, maybe some potatoes to go with it.

Any one know how to make Tomato Gravy?

Hi every one that has posted.

Linda have you checked Hocking College in Nelsonville out. You can do it in 1 year. I did it 2 years ago. It was a very busy year but worth it.

hi florence. i'm new to this, but i really hate it when someone says i'm an ONLY anything. i'm 52, have been an rn since '84. i worked in a hospital for 10yrs. in a stepdown unit and ltc for 7, and i can tell you that the aides are the backbone of care. i depend heavily upon their input since it is impossible to be everywhere at once. having done primary care in the hospital, i'm pretty good at spotting the caring aides from the ones that only care about paychecks. they don't usually last long, so i'm sure you were a caring, compassionate aide and will be the same as a nurse. best of luck to you!!

44 with two boys, 20 & 14, LPN for 10 years in Col's

Working towards going independent, tired of LTC, Agencies and left over hours,

and hearing about the nursing shortage when this is not positively reflected in wages.

On a more positive note, I love people and nursing and patient care, hands on! Love wounds of all types and med, surg. care.

Good crock pot stew--beef with priscutto, thyme and potatos. Cook carrots separately as sweet flavor rounds out the taste but not in the crock pot.

You guys rock. I am impressed with all the responses. You all sound like wonderful people and I am honored to share the state with all of you. I am with renerien I think it would be cool to get together. Mkue and renerien you have made me feel so good thank you nice things are nice to hear from time to time.

Hello Buckeyes!

I was born, raised, and educated in Ohio. Left for a very very long time, and returned the end of last year. Don't know if my husband and I will make this our home permanently or move elsewhere. It all depends on where hubby lands a very good paying job...he won't settle for anything less...and although he's a nurse, he doesn't want to work as one. We both want more education, he's already working on his by taking "online classes" which he already doesn't care for, and I'm waiting until we stablize somewhere so I can return to college. We both want to be CEOs of a hospital.........but NOT the same hospital since we each have different methods of managing employees, running a hospital, and what staff is necessary or unnecessary, etc. :D
