My friend and I are putting together an LLC owned and operated by nurses, home health care and would like to know where to get less expensive liability insurance. Know any companies? Thanks!

Ohio HH IP LPN's WARNING PAY CUT 30%
I don't want to go back to agency. I make better with IP and I am certainly treated better by patients than by a corp. who is interested in profit. Nurses and patients are the agencies sidelines! Just an experienced opinion.

Now I am really questioning nursing
I love my patients and appreciate their pain, their need for help, education, meds and general health. That is what nursing is all about. The rest is crap. They don't want to pay me well, I'll find another place to go. Keep looking for that place. If you don't feel that way about patients or yourself don't go into nursing. You want a career which is satisfying, pays well and there is room for advancement, you can do that in nursing but it is a struggle. If you are not ready to struggle for your patient and you think you deserve better than struggle in your profession, nursing is not for you. Nursing is about others needs. Ours must be met but once we commit to another, theirs comes first. We are the one on one trench workers. That is what nursing is all about.

Independent Nurses providing medical care?
I continue to pay $89 a year. I got a notice from NSO that my rate would go from $89 to $300 so I looked around and found better on the internet. In fact, it was the company I first had insurance with before I thought NSO would be a good idea. NSO hounded me about their magazine, life insurance and all kinds of insurance. I am hoping the sales pitches will quit hitting my mailbox soon. By the way, I've had a license for 14 years and nothing against it yet. No reason to raise the rate!

Medicare/Medicaid Billing---Ind. to Agency?
Once again, I really appreciate the heads up. I got out the phone book and started looking. I've got a medicaid billing service and I do things on the computer. It's easy and nice. Waiver is a dream compared to what I am looking at! I've been using Excel and passing things on to the acct. monthly and that is working well also. I am just in new territory with this billing and like to do my homework. I've been reading but hearing from another is comforting. Thanks so much for your time.

Medicare/Medicaid Billing---Ind. to Agency?
Thanks so much for the info! I will look for a billing company that will help with the contract work as well as oasis billing. So far I found a few on the net, which would be convenient as I do home care, entering 485, turning it into oasis and transmitting electronically. They are wanting $385 month, unlimited billing but I am unsure as to all they will do for that amount. I will look for someone local as well. If you could share with me cost of billing I would appreciate it. If you would like to do this privately I am open. Thank you so much. :)

Medicare/Medicaid Billing---Ind. to Agency?
Glad I'm not alone. I am pondering how many visits to put down for first 3 months of agency as I am working alone, with back up, of course. Have you come up with an answer or heard of how others do it?

Medicare/Medicaid Billing---Ind. to Agency?
I've been an S-corp for a little over a year now and working IC. I've done well but need to be able to expand billing and have gotten an application for medicare certification. While I understand this can be daunting, collecting that is, I am hoping this will expand my base of patients; medicaid and private insurance also. Anyone out there gone through getting an agency going? I am not interested in hiring many people, just enough to keep myself and others in work, less of it for more money. I am truly loving home/patient care and would like to continue to concentrate on this aspect and will tolerate the business end of the deal to do so. Anything but go back to "employment!!!!!"

Independent Nurses providing medical care?
I currently work in Columbus, IP and the patients are getting tight, unless you want to work night shift. There are many of those posted. I am thinking it is time to become medicare certified in order to get cases directly from the hospital and be able to take cases other than waiver. I am good with full time cases now but at any time that could change. God has been good to me in this area but I have been thinking expanding prospects for cases would not be a bad idea.

New Independent Here!
:roll Flowerchild, I didn't mean to rain on your parade and I am sorry you took things personally. I think it is great "you" have this opportunity and I think you should take it and work it. I am hoping you will not turn into the "agency" we all despise and exploit other nurses. I am hoping you will find other nurses and give them the same deal, 100X over, what you have been given. I just recently inc. and started working IC. I love it. I talk to others in town who are looking to do the same, have a basic idea of what they want to do and how to do it, and then I share what I have and know and we network. There are many of us and the number is growing. I only hope you will do the same and better. There were those before me who helped tremendously and I am doing the same in turn. Pulling ourselves up is good and it's better when we pull others up with us.
