  3. Ohio HH IP LPN's WARNING PAY CUT 30%

I don't want to go back to agency. I make better with IP and I am certainly treated better by patients than by a corp. who is interested in profit. Nurses and patients are the agencies sidelines! Just an experienced opinion.
  4. Now I am really questioning nursing

I love my patients and appreciate their pain, their need for help, education, meds and general health. That is what nursing is all about. The rest is crap. They don't want to pay me well, I'll find another place to go. Keep looking for that ...
  5. Independent Nurses providing medical care?

I continue to pay $89 a year. I got a notice from NSO that my rate would go from $89 to $300 so I looked around and found better on the internet. In fact, it was the company I first had insurance with before I thought NSO would be a good idea. NS...
  6. I've been an S-corp for a little over a year now and working IC. I've done well but need to be able to expand billing and have gotten an application for medicare certification. While I understand this can be daunting, collecting that is, I am hopi...
  7. Medicare/Medicaid Billing---Ind. to Agency?

Once again, I really appreciate the heads up. I got out the phone book and started looking. I've got a medicaid billing service and I do things on the computer. It's easy and nice. Waiver is a dream compared to what I am looking at! I've been us...

  9. Medicare/Medicaid Billing---Ind. to Agency?

Thanks so much for the info! I will look for a billing company that will help with the contract work as well as oasis billing. So far I found a few on the net, which would be convenient as I do home care, entering 485, turning it into oasis and tra...

  13. Medicare/Medicaid Billing---Ind. to Agency?

Glad I'm not alone. I am pondering how many visits to put down for first 3 months of agency as I am working alone, with back up, of course. Have you come up with an answer or heard of how others do it?
  14. Independent Nurses providing medical care?

I currently work in Columbus, IP and the patients are getting tight, unless you want to work night shift. There are many of those posted. I am thinking it is time to become medicare certified in order to get cases directly from the hospital and be ...

I've had an S Corp for nearly a year now. I love the ease of bookkeeping, the Distributions without payroll taxes and the ability to have the business cover my car, cell phone, half of a laptop, a nice desk, good tools of the trade and anything else...
  17. Just got out!

Hey all! I just got out of agency work after 4.5 years with same one. Of course, I had another all that time too but only for odd things in between. They are really tightening up in Ohio, starting to enforce the non-compete clauses and I fear with ...
  18. New Independent Here!

:roll Flowerchild, I didn't mean to rain on your parade and I am sorry you took things personally. I think it is great "you" have this opportunity and I think you should take it and work it. I am hoping you will not turn into the "agency" we all ...
  19. New Independent Here!

:roll Right on Indie! While it's a great situation for you, it's not advancing nurses in general or the profession. Everyone wants to make money but it needs to be for nurses across the board. Now that you are in a position of power, authority an...
  20. incorporating

:roll While the advantages of one corp. form or another can be analyzed and argued, the point is that working for oneself, paying less medicare tax and finally getting the full advantage of pay for expenses, like the car, a big one, is what it is al...

  22. Great agency!

:roll Found a great agency here in Columbus! They don't mind nurses who are IP. They will even provide LPN's with superivisor and do medicaid billing. So nice a change from all the cattiness of most agencies. Their pay is a bit lower but for fil...
  23. Great agency!

:roll When you sign a non-compete, it will clearly state that you can't work for a client you had through the agency for either a specific period of time, which will hold up in court, or a specific demographic area, which does not hold up in court. ...
