I've always been attracted to people's behavior and attempted to understand why they behave as they do. I have a theory here:
A definition of melting pot is "a place where different peoples, styles, theories, etc. are mixed together" and that's why I believe General Nursing is a popular forum. It's a potpourri of nurses, spanning the entire spectrum of nurses and nursing.
What do you think?
Why do you come to the General Nursing forum?

I play around with whatever thought is on my mind and last night I sketched a General Nursing Melting Pot. One thought led to another and I made the melting pot image with my computer tablet.
I liked the original sketch so I'm using it for this post along with a few images I've generated over the years.
Now, I thought my previous image would be difficult, but @Daisy4RN identified all those represented with just a little hint.
This one I'm sure is going to be more difficult. The only criteria I used was that all the images had to have something to do with the allnurses website and they had to be ones that I generated:

I enjoy being one of the "seasoned" nurses who provides wisdom to others (at least, that's how I fancy myself). In April, I will have been a member here for 16 years. Crazy.
We LOVE seasoned nurses, as long as they don't have way too much pepper on them. LOL
16 years - WOW! Time flies when you're having a good time. We are so glad you've stuck with us for so long!!

Of course, I look for my favorite posters...
I used to read the School Nurses forum, but with the pandemic and all I gave it up.
I still am as active as possible in the OB/Gyn and Nurse Manager forums. But other than those two forums, the General Nursing forum is the only other one I read nowadays.

You two may want to check out this old thread:
I found AN after a Google search for new grad advice. Received fantastic general new grad advice and advice about specific clinical scenarios. It greatly decreased my anxiety when I thought accidentally poking twice with same IV needle would cause sepsis and death, and not to keep reporting abnormal K on dialysis pts LOL. Now 7 years later I find myself giving advice.
Along the way I received mental health advice, took advice to go to counseling, received diagnosis of bipolar disorder, got support from other nurses w/ same diagnosis, encouragement I could still be a nurse. Vented about my crazy floor, got perspective that it IS crazy and I'm not just a millennial Bay Area snowflake. Got confirmation that in other ways I still am a millennial Bay Area snowflake.? Heard perspectives of seasoned nurses, learned about other specialties and nursing in other parts of the country. Got perspectives of nurses of other races and others who have had experiences different than mine: survivors of abuse, single moms, amazing strong people.
Now been reassured it's OK to step down from my Stepdown floor (pun intended) after 4 years of advocating for safety to no avail. Received support after being attacked by pts, forced into unsafe situations, etc. OK to move to job in outpatient PACU with a less challenging pt pop. and still be a good person, OK to take care of yourself = ) Thanks Allnurses!

And thank you for sharing your personal and professional life with us, LibraNurse!
This is another reason why I feel drawn to the allnurses website. We are a bunch of human beings with a goal of providing care to those we serve despite our humanness- our foibles, idiosyncrasies, or, in my case, my callus crass, neurotically malcontent hatchetman personality.
We have a common ground where we can identify and support one another.
Thanks, again, LibraNurse!
Excuse me- I now have to go and practise my habit.
