I'm just curious. The shift is 7 to 7. But what time do you ACTUALLY leave work though??

Always somewhere between 7:15-7:45 with a mean average of 7:30. Rarely prior to 7:15. Rarely over 7:45.

Current job--more often than not, I'm done on time or 5-10 min. over. I think the longest I've been over was 40 min.

Probably the longest I've stayed over was an hour, hour & 15. That was in an LTACH, on days when I had a 2-hour dressing change plus all the other usual stuff, and didn't have time to do my charting. I could have been done earlier had I skipped lunch, but I don't skip lunch.

Specializes in Gerontology RN-BC and FNP MSN student.

7:10 -7:30

Ocassionally 7:45-8:00

Once in a blue moon 9:00.

When someone calls out 11:00.

Specializes in Neuro ICU and Med Surg.

Usually as soon as we are able to clock out at 0723. Occasionally if there is a late in the shift rapid or code blue I will leave around 8. This is a rare occasion.

We go into report at 7pm and are required to stay til 7:30. Usually regular report ends 7:30-7:40 and then we do bedside report for 5-10 minutes. I usually leave after 7:40.

715 most mornings, occasionally 730. 800 happened twice in 6 mths.

When my shift is over. I work all three shifts so the time varies.I only stay late maybe once every few months and that is only by a few minutes.

The times on the poll makes no sense. What shift are you assuming everyone works?

It can only be 7a to 7p or 7p to 7a it seems. Then again, some of the time frames don't leave much time for report.

Not everyone works those hours.I work a mix of 8s and 12s and all three shifts.

7:05-7:15, 7:20 if there's a real crump in progress (almost never).

At one job, I leave by 7:30. At the other job, I can leave as late as 2 hours after my shift. I work a mix of 8 hour night and day shifts at this second job, but no matter my best efforts to leave on time, I often get screwed over. I am leaving this job eventually.
