How did you find out about allnurses?

I found it in a book titled "How to Survive and Maybe Even Love Nursing School!" by Kelli Dunham. The book has some great tips but this site has given me unmeasurable amounts of wisdom and advice. I would be lost without it. :)

Hey everyone . just wondering how do YOU find out about allnurses.com. I found out about it when I was searching for somehting about nursing school and I looked for it on a search engine. I happened to pass this site on that search. I thought this was interesting site, but not exactly what I was looking for at the time. When I finally realized I was going to do it (nursing school). I thought about this site and been hooked here ever since.:)

I was looking for a Nursing forum and this was at the top of Google's list

My job is very stressful, eg. short staffed, unappreciated, disorganized boss, long hours, then getting in trouble for overtime, no supplies, blah, blah, blah...... But I absoulutely love my pts and I am learning so much so I really don't want to quit, and I don't want to seem like I'm in it for money, but it is the most that I'm going to make and the benefits are good. So, one of the other nurses and I were talking about how high stress our job was and I said that I think that I needed a support group and so she told me about this site and how much she loved it. I'm so glad that she did!!!!!!!!!

I was looking up information on how to become a nurse in the UK when I came across this site. I loved the fact that there are real people here who have been in my posistion and can give me real advice. Growing up in the South, I was always taught that your elders know way more than you think they do about things. I am so glad I was raised to respect the people around me. Before I came to Allnurses, my dream seemed like an impossibility. However, the wonderfully talented and caring people on this site make me feel like anything is possible. Thanks to everyone for making this site what it is! Keep up the good work!! :lol2:

I found out about allnurses.com through a nursing calendar. It was quoting funny posts so I just had to visit the site!

I found out about it probably through a web link of some sort.

I enjoyed it at first, then realized that it was the same discussions over and over again.

Like most web forums, grammar and spelling is pretty poor and I have to admit that is one (somewhat trivial) reason that I don't really check it out that much.
