Hey everyone . just wondering how do YOU find out about allnurses.com. I found out about it when I was searching for somehting about nursing school and I looked for it on a search engine. I happened to pass this site on that search. I thought this was interesting site, but not exactly what I was looking for at the time. When I finally realized I was going to do it (nursing school). I thought about this site and been hooked here ever since.:)

I found out about it probably through a web link of some sort.
I enjoyed it at first, then realized that it was the same discussions over and over again.
Like most web forums, grammar and spelling is pretty poor and I have to admit that is one (somewhat trivial) reason that I don't really check it out that much.

You have quite a bit of posts for someone who doesn't like this board much.

I Googled for information on obtaining licensure in Texas because I'm considering relocating.

I've been around this site so dang long I don't even remember how I ran across it........I know I lurked for a couple of years before joining........now I wonder what in the world I did with my spare time before I started posting!! :chuckle

I found the site several times. Usually I was doing some internet search on a couple of subjects for work. It kept popping up in my Google search. The last time (prompted me to investigate further) was during a search for online Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Programs. That prompted me to want to post to the site to see if anyone else had other information for me. :specs:

From a friend at work. However after posting my first comments today I don't know if posting or answering honestly is such a good thing. Maybe from now on I should just tell people what they want to hear and move on. My friend tells me I am so opinionated and she laughs at the responses I got to my first post. Oh well...

I was searching specifically for a nursing listserv, to compare your issues to those of the paramedics. I find that many of the complaints/concerns about your jobs are the same as ours. I also found that the grammar and spelling here are no better than ours. I will soon be entering a nursing program at my local community college. This site gives me some insights into your world. I rarely see anything beyond the E.D.

I have been admitted to the associated nursing program I start in the fall. My aunt that has worked as an LPN in the same hospital since she got out of nursing school (she is retired now) ran into her boss and told her that I was starting nursing school in the fall and the boss asked for me to get intouch with her. I was looking up that particular hospital online and found some stuff on the digestive system (which I am studying right now in A & P test thurs) so I started studying. But everytime I clicked on a link it would take me to the allnurses main page. I was actually getting a little sick of it. Finally I looked through and found the forums. I LOVE FORUMS any way here I am. :rolleyes: :) :uhoh3:
