How did you find out about allnurses?

Hey everyone . just wondering how do YOU find out about allnurses.com. I found out about it when I was searching for somehting about nursing school and I looked for it on a search engine. I happened to pass this site on that search. I thought this was interesting site, but not exactly what I was looking for at the time. When I finally realized I was going to do it (nursing school). I thought about this site and been hooked here ever since.:)

I really have no idea...

or as I used to say in some of my research papers...

it was common knowledge.

I think I saw the "allnurses.com" logo on an older nursing student's computer one day and thought it looked interesting, so I decided to check it out for myself- I'm glad I did, although now I'm TOO hooked! it's a great community here, has helped me from my very first clinical day and till now when I am about to graduate and be a REAL NURSE... wow that's hard to believe. (sorry for rambling :imbar but I just love you guys! :crying2: sniff, sniff!)

I was actually looking for nursing horror stories :chuckle . I was reading a lot of websites designed to get more people into nursing, and I KNEW it wasn't as glamourous as these sites were making it out to be! So I ended up here and read lots of gross stories, poor work conditions, politics, and nurses who regret going into nursing. I STILL want to be a nurse -- and I'm so gald I have a realistic picture of what my job will be like, thanks to this Allnurses!

When I found out I was accepted into nursing school, I did a google search on "Why I love being a nurse". Most of the hits I got were for sites about "Why I hate beign a nurse" This was the first site that had a lot of positive stuff to say about it and I have been hooked ever since. I have learned so much just from these boards!
