I am so fed up with the entire educational system. Every semester I feel like I am walking on eggshells Hoping everything will go fine
this is my last semester and I will be done with my prereqs and you know what just happened? I took a class online and went to check my grades only to see a BIG FAT ZERO next to my midterm grade
okay so I email the professor and ask why did I get a zero and we go back and forth for a frigging hour In email before he believes that I am a legitmate student of his
FINALLY he tells me that I got a zero because he didn't receive my midterm
I sent proof that I sent it and I'm staring at the midterm I posted on the other browser. So I posted the receipt that shows it was posted and he still claims he didn't get it. I emailed him again posting the receipt
an hour went past and no response
I am in tears. The online class only has two tests and there is no way I am going to pass if he can't find my midterm
I will not accept a failing grade just what should I do? Should I go to the school and complain
right now I am so fed up with college that I feel like dropping out. So tired of feeling so vulnerable all the time
I have been stationed by the computer all day stressing out over this. I have been going back and forth in email since 12 this afternnoon (it takes him hours to get back to me) I just don't know what to because if I fail I lose financial aid and go on academic probation I need all the support I can get. I was so upset that I couldn't even spell the title right

I know that you may be fed up, but don't give up you have come so far. I would suggest you talk with the Dean of the department first and explain your situation and set up and appointment with the Dean. Make sure you keep every email and document pertaining to this situation because it shows that you are not liable and that it was either something that went wrong with the internet or on his part. DON'T GIVE UP!! and GOOD LUCK!

i know you're in a very very frustrating place right now.
may i give you a look from the other side of the fence and suggest a possible solution? my husband is a professor who teaches nursing students, among many other majors. many many times, students will claim
they have emailed a paper, when he never received it. this can happen for a variety of reasons: glitches
in the server, sending it in a program that won't open, papers arriving late due to no fault of the student,
and finally, the student didn't send it.
what my husband does with his students, is suggest that they slip a printed copy of their paper under his
office door, or hand it to him personally, as well as send it to him by email. that way if the email doesn't arrive, the student doesn't suffer.
if you have definitive proof you sent it on time, show him. if you have a rough draft, a printed copy of your paper, take them and show him. if he won't budge, go to the department or division chair next, and finally the dean. going up the chain of command looks good. if possible, don't begin at the very top.
best of luck.
eta -- also, point out that you turned every other assignment in on time, participated in class, and received the following good grades:_,_
_,_. (filling in the blanks with grades.)

If you have the receipt and he still says he didnt get it it is his fault or the servers. Take it up with the next person higher up if he is gonna be a jerk about it

That is ridiculous. I know professors get stories about things being turned in that actually were not. That does not mean they have the right to be jaded and assume everyone who states they turned something in that was not received is lying.
I would print the whole thing. The receipt, the items to be turned in--all of it. I would physically mail it to him, to his department chair and to whatever student advocate you have. Most schools have some sort of student advocate or ombudsman; they are there to help. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you let us know how it turns out!
Ok he emailed me asking for my password to access my blackboard account. I gladly gave it to him.
He emailed me back saying it was an error on his part and for some strange reason he didn't get my midterm. The midterm was in my dropbox like I said. I got all of my points. I am so happy now!
Now I can go to bed happy

I took many online classes and all were very long distance. I have had similar occurrences and like you, got them resolved.
Don't give up and good luck.

I know what those online things are like. I had 3 timed quizes disappear on me. Very lucky for me, the teacher reset my quizes so I could do them over but it was not easy to explain what happened.

He really shouldn't have asked for your password. Blackboard give a report on everything a student does to an instructor. This teacher seems a little inappropriate.. I've taken many, many classes on blackboard and with the exception of one professor all the others have been highly accommodating about technical glitches. Good luck!
