My condolences to those who have to work this Friday night. I never used to believe in such nonsense, until I worked night shift for many years. Be sure to post your stories here too! :)
One Fri 13th, I was working and on call for that 24 hrs. I worked 12 hours, then stayed 4 more to fix scheduling/cover, had 3 falls, sent one to psych hospital and had an elopement. I had 4 CNA call offs, and one CMT called off. I told the DON at that facility that I would never ever ever EVER be on call on a Fri 13th!! ( I had traded at someone else's request, out of the goodness of my heart).
My mom always said that "No good deed goes unpunished'. I believed it THAT night!
This year, Fri will be my last day of employment at this facility and new job starts MONDAY
Bonus! Tomorrow is a scheduled day off! And I am not on call this weekend! Yay me!
Though, some of the stories from nights and full moons are still some of the most entertaining stories I have. Then again, in my current job, the crap hits the fan without much correlation to the full moon and/or Friday the 13th. So I have concluded there will just be stories and challenging days from most any day in my life.
