Hello,
I am a newly accepted nursing student. I have a really good friend that is going to be following suite into the nursing program. To be perfectly honest, I do not think this friend is nursing material.
she cannot stand working with people, has a short temper, and has little patients.... Not sure how to let her down nicely.

And you think you are qualified to judge anyone's ability to become a nurse how?

You don't need to say anything. The process will weed her out. Or her first job will if she somehow makes it through the program.
Sounds like she knows her friend. Do you think somebody that dislikes working with people, has a short temper and no patience would make a good nurse?
Maybe she does. Or maybe her friend would uae the exact same terms to describe her. As for these qualities, I'm not sure where the OP got the impression that nurses were supposed to be flawless. We're not, we all have our flaws but most of us know what they are, and are able to work around them.
The question that's being missed, again, is this: as a newly accepted nursing student, how is the OP qualified to determine whether anyone is "nursing material."

People do change, and they mature. Some people will surprise you.
If she wants to pursue nursing, I would leave her to figure it out. If she is truly not cut out for nursing, it will hopefully be evident early on.
Depending on your level of friendship, you might have conversations with her, and maybe even voice your concerns - in a friendly conversational way, non-threatening and non-critical way.

There are so many different areas of nursing, your friend might be perfect for one and you wouldn't know. You don't tell her she's not cut out for nursing, because you haven't the slightest idea if she is or not. It's not your place anyway.
Wait, this is dang troll! I would ignore this user, fyi!

She isn't in nursing school yet and she already has patients? Of small stature?
:)
If she isn't cut out for nursing, I'm sure she will find that out soon enough, without your input.
