  1. Mt program allows me to chose either full time or part-time. I was considering being a part-time student, so that I can work. Would I be losing out by not going to school full time? Do most people think I would loose out by not going FT?

I have no clue why, but I am terrified to work labor and delivery. My school required that I do at least one semester in L&D. I wanted to mentally prepare myself. I wanted to know what your thought were about working L&D? is it scary
  3. I was wondering how many times on average it take people to pass the state exams. My school tells me that most people take about two attempts to pass.
  4. I was wondering what the general consensus is for hospital v. privet practice. I have been looking at potential jobs after graduation, and it looks like privet prat ice may be higher paying.

I am super scared to carry a large amount of debit. Is it better to work part time and pay each class off, before moving on to another class? This will take me much longer, but my program has a part-time student option.
  6. I am considering schooling options for the future. Based upon experience, do you think it is worth it to get your BSN. Do hospitals require it? Are there more job opportunities?
  7. I was wondering what percentage of nurses ended up getting hired from their practicum site? I think finishing the schooling will be the easy part. when I have been looking for jobs in my area and they all want 5 yrs experience. It almost seems impossible to get hired after graduation
  8. Hello, I am a newly accepted nursing student. I have a really good friend that is going to be following suite into the nursing program. To be perfectly honest, I do not think this friend is nursing material. she cannot stand working with people, has a short temper, and has little patients.... Not sure how to let her down nicely.
  9. Has anyone worked in a hospital that has used therapy animals? I have read about some children making great progress from the interaction
  10. Hi, I am getting ready to start nursing school. I want to be prepared to start the coursework. What was the most challenging class/classes that you have taken so far?
  11. I agree with you OldDude. I also think that the type of therapy dog would also have to be considered.

I haven't had SPOT experience, but the concept sound great! Especially for fussy kids that won't sit still

I am in CA, and there is not a bump in pay, but more the placing willing to hire you go way down. It it slowly becoming a requirement.

It sounds bad, but is mom does not want to listen, it may be best to let things surface. If he/she does indeed have autism, it will only be a matter of time before it becomes undeniable. No mom wants to think that their child may face challenges in life.
