Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!
hi happy,
being a june 2006 passer wont affect your ces application only your vsc. so u may go on with your ces application. cts may even approved your application to sit for nclex but after that you have to fulfill cgfns' decision of retaking nle test 3 and 5. its your choice if you'll retake the whole exam or only portions of it. goodluck! i wish you and the entire june 2006 batch nothing but the best. :nuke:
i'm in the process of endorsing my new mexico license to il. as a foreign educated nurse, can i do away with the submission of ct-nur form, the verification of license that goes from nm to il? anyway, this is already part of the ces, isn't it? nm says it does not do verification of license to other boards of nursing, this should be coursed thru nursys. i don't think i can avail of this service by nursys because i remember reading in one thread that you need to be a taxpayer in nm to do so and i am not. does my memory serve me right?
i'm entertaining this thought as this could be similar to foregoing the toefl requirement as long as the ces states that the medium of instruction in the college i attended is english.
shalom!
Hi kathykaye.... i already passed all the requirements in illinois last December 20, 2006. i've been waiting for my eligibility for almost two months. i already follow up and emailed cts about this last week but until now they didnt reply to my email. *ask them if they recieve your application. they normally send an acknowldegment letter after they recieve the 4-page application form. the letter will tell you if you still have outstanding documents that you need to submit...or approval letter which tells you that your application was approved and will advise you to register to pearsonvue..
nm says it does not do verification of license to other boards of nursing, this should be coursed thru nursys. i don't think i can avail of this service by nursys because i remember reading in one thread that you need to be a taxpayer in nm to do so and i am not. does my memory serve me right?
you can apply for nursys verification service. you don't need to be a us taxpayer for that (you might be referring to the compact states license rule). use the paper form and not the online system. use a bank draft for the fee. the instructions, procedure, forms, faq and everything you need to know about nursys is in ncsbn.org website.
i hope this helps.

yeah, i think you should just retake the exam. you won't be able to get a visascreen. although i'm not sure as well if it will affect your CES application.
