Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!
read thishttp://www.idfpr.com/DPR/APPLY/FORMS/CGFNS_02.pdf
"TOEFL may be waived by the Department/Division if your credentials evaluation report indicates your nursing
education program was conducted in English utilizing English Textbooks."
they know that our books and our medium of instruction are in english... our board exam is written in english too..
you have to apply for CES first if you want to apply for a license in IL.
hi kathykaye!...so for Philippine nursing graduates this narrowed down the reqt of illinois to just CES and NCLEX right? I just want to make sure coz I've read certain discussions in the previous threads regarding taking TOEFL or not. There are those who believe that TOEFL is a must for all foreign applicants like us Filipinos...but if we are to analyze what was stated in the office of the gov, TOEFL for Filipinos can be waived because our nursing program as well as textbooks are in English. I know it would do no harm if you take TOEFL since you will be needing it anyway for VS but if you want the application process finished in a shorter period of time then doing it without TOEFL would make a big difference. That's why new mexico is so popular coz we want it fast. For me it's wiser to take TOEFL after passing NCLEX...
Has anyone here applied in Illinois without taking TOEFL or any other international English exam and yet was given an eligibility?...Please share your experiences. Thanks.
hi kanebo! in my case i didnt take the toefl series. what i took and passed was the ielts series. primarily for my cg certificate back then. and recently, i also applied and received my vsc. my application in illinois for the registered nurse examination was already approved. all i have to do now is to register to pearson and schedule for to sit for the exam.
if you have any inquiries feel free to pm me. and kathy kaye has always been there to answer all the questions here. goodluck!

it was delivered in my home address (regular mail only not registered)... hmm.. maybe it got delayed... try to inquire in your post office if they recieve a mail for you.. wait for it first.. if it's quite a while and you havent recieve any mail from them, better call IDFPR and inform them..
*wait for about 2-3 weeks

I passed the Philippine nurse licensure exam last June 2006.I have to retake the test 3 and 5 since it is the decision of CGFNS...I already started applying for a CES report for the state of IL.Is it advisable to continue my
CES application so as not to waste time while reviewing for the retake exam??Will there be any effect on my application in this case since CES is under CGFNS?Thank you.
