Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!
hey question, ATT for Illinois lasts for 90 days right? so i need to take the test within 90 days after receiving my att..but how about the eligibility, how long does it last? because I'm expecting my eligibility from IL BON to arrive anytime now, but I don't want to take the exam yet.. to do that, I should not register with pearson at once so that I won't receive my att.. uhmm, is there an expiration written in the eligibility? or a rule that I must register at pearson within a specific number of days or else it will expire?
your application in IL is open for 3 years. NCLEX exam is just one of the requirements... you should have completed all the requirements within that period. if you failed to complete the reqt's within 3 years, you need to reapply again...
when you register to pearsonvue, your registration is valid for 365days. meaning, the BON should have determined that you're eligible to sit for exam within that period. pearsonvue will just contact the BON where you applied and ask if the applicant is eligible.
when you register to pearsonvue, just a few hours or the day after that (if the BON determined you're eligible), you will recieve your ATT in your email address (if you provide one) or in your home address.
the validity of ATT, if you applied in IL, is 90 days. it will start on the day you registered to pearsonvue then count til 90 days.
once you recieve your ATT, you can now see the calendar schedule in your pearsonvue account wherein available testing dates and time are indicated. then you're ready to sched an appointment for your exam.
i just applied for my CES and i was shocked because the CES report fee for HEALTHCARE PROFESSION & SCIENCE COURSE-BY-COURSE REPORT is increase by 100$ with additional services of ADDITIONAL CGFNS SERVICES - CES ORDER PROCESSING FEE and ADDITIONAL CREDENTIAL EVALUATION SERVICES - EVALUATION OF ADDITIONAL ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS. I thought it was only 50$? why is that sO? i dont know the reason why 100$ is increased in my order. hoping for replies thanks
and can i cancell a order in CGFNS? thanks

what i know is that there's an extra fee for every additional academic credential in excess of 3 completed academic program (including secondary education). i think the fee is $50.
if you prefer, you can cancel the order. send an email, indicate the order number. if you already paid, there's a no refund policy.
has anyone here applied for illinois without taking and passing the toefl and got their application approved? because i got my application approved and cts is telling me to register to pearson to take the nclex and i haven't taken toefl yet. is that possible?
hi am new here...you mean you got your eligibility w/o taking toefl? how did you do it? am also interested in applying in illinois if toefl can be waived coz i'd like to take nclex first...though am willing to take toefl after nclex knowing that it is one of the reqts for visa screen...pls share your experience. tnx.

"TOEFL may be waived by the Department/Division if your credentials evaluation report indicates your nursing
education program was conducted in English utilizing English Textbooks."
they know that our books and our medium of instruction are in english... our board exam is written in english too..
you have to apply for CES first if you want to apply for a license in IL.
after you register to pearsonvue and they determine that you're eligible to sit for exam, you will recieve an ATT on your email address, if you provide one, during the registration. the att is valid for 90 days only.. (if you applied in IL)
after you register to pearsonvue, you will have a pearsonvue account wherein you can sign in with a username and password. you can see a calendar schedule there after you got your ATT. that calendar will show available slots... you are the one to choose when you want to take it... it is administered from monday to saturday...just make sure that you will schedule an appointment for exam/testing date within the validity of your ATT.
goodluck!
