Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!
hello again!you can use the link ("email questions about this profession") found in the website: http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/WHO/nurs.asp
and you will probably see this: http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/e_mail/prfgrp09.asp
give your full name, complete mailing address and email address. purpose must be for licensure application for registered professional nurse in the State of Illinois. you can request for an application packet to be mailed to you along with the request for the fingerprint card and instructions for international graduates. wait for 10 to 20 working days for the packet to arrive.
goodluck! :penguin:

you dont have to pay for requesting a fingerprint card and for the application packet. the packet can be downloaded in the website while fingerprint card may be requested thru an email msg sent to them or a ground mail for free. suggest you email them for faster response. have you passed the cg exam? if not, you have to apply for your ces from cgfns.
Basically, you need to submit TOEFL, together with CES and other requirements (e..g, criminal background check, PRC license verification, etc.), in order to be given eligibility to take the NCLEX. However, TOEFL can be waived if your CES will show that English is the medium of instruction in your nursing education.

hello ms suzanne =)
im new here and thank God i found this forum!
i failed the first time i took the exam 8 months ago in the US with NY BON. now im here in the philippines and planning to take the exam again here. ive decided to apply to IL BON and just a week ago i got my eligibility. my question is do i need to register again on pearson vue for a new account coz i have different address and BON now??? or use the same account?? im really confused coz when i log in a while back using my old account it does still exist and it says there that i have to pay a certain amount for a change of BON.
im really bothered about this help me please!
Is it possible that instead of the school and PRC, you will send both of the papers that they have issued (as long as it is sealed by them) in one courier mail? or mail the papers from my school along with my CES application? I’m worried that it will cost me more to have it send individually since I still have to send the application forms and the FP card separately.
And does anybody here know what the minimum length of wait is before they issue the ATT? I’m also worried that I will not have enough time to review for the exam.
hi guys! how can i retake for the NCLEX? i failed in my exam but im planning to take it early this year..i chose Illinois still. What should i do first? thanks.. quite upset but i know i can do this!
You need to follow instruction on Illinois website for re sit of exam and pay any fees applicable with both Illinois and pearsonvue
Good luck

i have gone through this thread and it was really a surprise to learn about this squabble on what english language test to take....simply because i applied for il license exam last april 2006 online via the idfpr website.then i just went through the instruction given. the cts requested for my cgfns cert, fingerprint, payment, and the signed application form. after getting all those supporting documents done and...voila!!!!i got my att in 1 week through pearson.did not go through ces and toefl trouble.just had my ielts.i took the nclex last sept27 of 2006 in hk and after 2 days i found out in through the net that i passed after answering 75 questions.( i guess i did something good that god allowed me to pass:saint: indeed god is good)
but then again if they say its the new rule by il bon that you go through ces and toefl then i advise you guys not to argue with it.
god bless you all especially for these people who are going to take their nclex...
