Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!
hi!much thanks for your help. I think I'm going to take TOEFL (since i read IL BON site that they need TOEFL for english exam). Some say that IELTS is easier than TOEFL, but i don't want to take risk. Again, much thanks for your help. I hope i can pass my TOEFL exam soon!
hi, that Toefl requirement can be waived.. Just wait for your CES report before applying to IL BON.
I would not do it until you have passed either the NCLEX-RN or CGFNS exam. There just is no reason to do it at this time, and the application is only good for one year or you have to pay an additional fee.
With the retrogression in place right now, there is no rush to get the VSC. You are not required to have it in hand to start the immigration process, only passing of one of the above mentioned exams. The Certificate is only needed when you are ready for an interview at the US Embassy.
If for some reason you do not get the exam passed within the year, then you either pay more money or lose the fee that you paid.

Better to down load and send in as you will still need to send in other requirements like finger prints. Also if you make any errors easily rectified
hello
I am currently licensed here in CA and I am planning to relocate in Illinois. I am an international graduate so I do not know how to endorse my license there. I visited their site and I am really confused. I also called them and they told me that they will send me a packet. Can somebody tell me the step by step process on how to apply for endorsement as well as the requirements? PLEASE! somebody help me... thankyou so much. Hoping to hear from someone here..

hi mides,
In my case, I applied first for CES report. Then after CGFNS issued me the CES, that's the only time I submitted my papers to IL BON.
They waived the english req. I graduated in the Philippines and in my CES report it was stated there that language of instruction was English with English textbooks.
I sat for NCLEX and then took IELTS last.(for my visa screen)
I think the speaking part of IELTS is easier to pass compared to TOEFL -ibt because you are speaking with a person, unlike toefl-ibt wherein you talk alone on a headset. I followed Suzanne's advice and enrolled at scottsenglish.com and I got a passing bandscore in ielts through practicing english everyday... Hope that helps. GOd bless.
