Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!

hello

I am currently licensed here in CA and I am planning to relocate in Illinois. I am an international graduate so I do not know how to endorse my license there. I visited their site and I am really confused. I also called them and they told me that they will send me a packet. Can somebody tell me the step by step process on how to apply for endorsement as well as the requirements? PLEASE! somebody help me... thankyou so much. Hoping to hear from someone here..

You ill need to meet foreign nurse requirements which means CES from CGFNS plus complete endorsement form. Everything is explained here especially on page 4 http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/apply/forms/rn-en.pdf

CES is an evaluation of education especially nurse transcripts and all information can be found here http://www.cgfns.org/

hello

I downloaded the form in the IL board and they require the CES, I wonder if I should get the CGFNS or the ERES for the evaluation.Which one is better? thanks:)

My opinion is CGFNS CES as most states except that one and would also recommend full course, but the end decision is yours

really? I was also thinking of getting CGFNS though. I also want to ask if I still need totake the TOEFL, because we use english in the Philippines as the medium of education..

thanks a lot for the help.:)

If state requires English and CES shows that your course work is in English then usually waivered, however for VSC you need English exams and they need to be less than 2 years old when applying

No problems, without asking you'll never know.

VSC=visa screen certificate which is a requirement for immigration of foreign nurses if doing it through their profession. If marrying a USC then you do not need VSC

okay, now i get it. I had my greencard 2 years ago, I just had to go back to PI to finish college..

I just wish I can get all this done and overwith.

thanks silverdragon:)

Glad to hear that you understand what we have been talking about. But do be aware that if you ever wish to get licensed in another state, even with having a green card in hand, you will always need to follow the requirements for the foreign nurse since you completed your training out of the US.

Hi.

First of all, I just want to say that you guys are heaven sent.

Anyway, I just started with the 28-page packet. I understand that all of these forms will be sent to CTS right? I made a draft and uploaded, would someone kindly check if I got things right? Thank you.

Pages for application for licensure:

I don't know what to write in part VII.

Initial page of ED-NUR:

Initial page of CT-NUR:

OK. And when these are finalized, This is whats going to happen right?

1. The 4-page application for licensure will be submitted to CTS with ED-NUR and FP-NUR, all in one package and sent via any post office regardless of location?

2. The CT-NUR will be handled by PRC, and will not be submitted along with the other documents as it is an agency to agency communication?

3. I'll send the finger-print card to Identix with a note to forward the original receipt to CTS.

4. While I'm working on the CTS docs, I can also work the CES process right?

Thank you.
