Ok, I know we should be frugal after we graduate and invest in retirement, pay off debt and student loans, etc. However, for a little fun, what kinds of things do you look forward to buying after you graduate and are working as a nurse?
For me: a Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) and a set of NARS blushes ($200), the best blush on the planet. I've also been fixated on buying a Mini Cooper:
I suspect I'll buy the Dyson and NARS, but the Mini Cooper may just not be a good financial choice.
So what do you all want to buy?
The very first thing I am getting is a horse. My mom's horse is getting to old to do more than plod around (and even then you can't ride her long) and my son's ponies are too small for an adult so I can't ride w/ him.
THEN we're going on some trip. Some really really big trip where we do whatever we want no matter how much it costs.
After those two are taken care of we'll work on buying cars that will last longer than it takes us to pay them off!
What an interesting thread this is. I've been touched by many of the posts, so heart-felt. I posted it on a whim when I was feeling...um...severely frugal. I cannot believe I admitted to my friends here that I want blush that costs $200.Talk about frivolous.
Well, it's just nice to have a reminder that we won't always be living on our student budgets.
Don't feel bad about it at all. I don't use blush but the many makeup forums I'm a member of say that one you wanted is the best. Whatever money you earn is yours to spend it on whatever you please! Just because it isn't a house or something of the sort doesn't make it any less wonderful. As long as it is what you want. :-)
What's with the fetish for mentioning this stupid Catalina Wine Mixer in every post?
Your right, it was a bad idea. I guess after we all switch to UHC, I am going to pay more in taxes, be forced to give up the current health insurance that I have, and go on UHC, maybe I should hold off on buying a 2009 Corvette, and just do some modifications on the Corvette I currently own. I can still take it to the Catalina Wine Mixer though.

[i wouldn't worry about it, Bortaz. It looks like the CWM isn't the only thing he has a fetish for mentioning every post....]
Oops... Yeah. NOT a new Challenger. A REAL Challenger.
As crude of an attempt at an automobile as classic muscle cars may be, I can't really deny the cool factor here....incidentally, the new wave of retro inspired American muscle? Still not as cool as the originals. Just my .
[For my money though, I'd rather have the handling and balance of a well made German machine, such as BMW. God bless their ///M division.]

I want a house and more animals. My apartments restrictions are really putting a downer on my animal hoarding desires.
