What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?

For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"

How would you like to respond to these topics?

For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."

Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.

Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.

OK frankly, I think heavy-handed mods deserve a little crisping on this thread now. The moderation on this board has always struck me as much more noticeable than on other boards. However when a thread that's not even particularly contentious just gets shut down in the middle of discussion, after only about 24 hours, with no indication that OP has requested that, and after promises from OP to come back and update, that's too much. Discussion boards are not supposed to stifle conversation on viable topics.

It could be that you're seeing the post-cleanup version of the thread. I've seen locked threads that didn't seem bad, but then I notice the number of responses has drastically decreased since I last opened it. Also, while there is more moderation here than on some other boards, the TOS is clearly spelled out and adhered to.

PS TOS also prohibits discussing moderator decisions.

Moderation on this board has always been somewhat heavy-handed compared to others I have frequented. I was a mod for a short time here, and was HORRIBLY guilty myself (of heavy-handedness).

I stepped away and came back a few years later with a much more laid back attitude. I have to say, things are improved a lot. The mods are very reasonable and much LESS likely to shut down threads or assign "points" than in the past. Really if you had been here 8 or 10 years ago, you would likely not complain now.

We are thinking of the same thread? I guess I will put my teapot on hold.

It also prohibits calling posters trolls, which we've done a lot of on this thread.

I don't know what to do, this is my third job and I have been bullied at every one of them. I think it's because I'm young and pretty.

Or, how do I study for A&P? Should I take these classes together or will it be too hard? What will my pharm test on Friday be like?

Im so much better than you because I have such and such degree. Should I become a nurse? It was my dream 20 years ago but I can't seem to pass the prereqs. Clinicals are hard, should I become a nurse? It's my dream, but no school will accept me and it's not fair!!

My instructor bullies me!! They just won't give me my A!!

Our call is to be supportive, not divisive...

You are among the most intelligent, friendly, experienced, passionate and vocal nursing posters anywhere on the Internet. You are part of a site whose opinions are widely read by men and women considering nursing, nursing assistants, students from around the world. This website is one of the most highly respected within the nursing community and is listed as a resource in nursing publications and at other nursing related websites. We didn't get to that status without the professional and courteous contributions of our membership. We welcome you to a place you will soon call home.

Vent threads like this we tend to give leeway as long as comments not directed at individual member--then cleanup occurs.

Keep posts informational and self censored to that what you would say in public/work setting and won't find it edited. What gets my goat: Auto robot spammers who comeback night after night spamming 30+ forums with job links/ads --and the 30 alerts from members re spammers.

With all the references to rainbows, butterflies, sunshine, nether regions, bed pans and special snowflakes, thought it would be good to know that such a creature existed..... ;)

RNsRWe....it somehow made it in to my Pinterest feed as "picked for me". I think their algorithm might be off....but I followed it to a mommy blogger type who gave it rave reviews lol
