What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?

For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"

How would you like to respond to these topics?

For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."

Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.

Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.

Wait! I forgot my FAVORITE:

I am on my fourth major in college, my GPA sucks, nursing sounds like it might be worth a whirl - NO NEGATIVE POSTS PLEASE!

^^ That ^^ is my favorite - "I want opinions but only the kind I specify!"

OMGGGGG!!!!!!!!! THE PVT WORKSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! I mean, the first four times I tried it, I got charged $200 each, but when I got that pop up the 5th time, I knew it was the best $800 I've ever spent EVERRRRRR!!!!!!!!! Now all I have to do is wait until my license appears online in two hours!!!!!!!

I graduated with honors, awards and accolades from a VERY prestigious university, and some chick from community college got my job. She used to be a waitress. I will become a CRNA, and ya'll can think what you want about that, but some outside source other than me is keeping me down!! Perhaps it is my religion/personality/hair color.

If someone has some sort of heart failure, does that mean that my care should include bowel function? I don't know, but seems reasonable--what do you all think. This is for a friend....

This is not homework.

HR raked me through the coals, I was called into meetings over and over, I was written up over and over....wait, I was supposed to have a union rep with me and ?

My teacher is so mean to me! I tried to turn in my assignment 3 weeks late and they told me I have to take a zero. I appealed the grade all the way up to the president of the school, but they all denied it. I feel like I'm being bullied!

THEM: "OMG, I did the PVT trick and didn't get the good pop-up, does that mean that I failed the NCLEX??"

ME: "Yes you did ya little twit. Now go eat a damn cookie and get back to studying."

THEM: "Does this violate HIPPA??"

ME: "I don't care! Learn how to spell ya freaking amoeba, it's HIPAA!!"

THEM: "I graduated x months ago and I STILL can't get a job in L.A.!!"

ME: "Have you considered that there IS a world outside of California?"

THEM: "OMG, I have a perfect 4.0 GPA, have volunteered for 5 years at my local hospital, an MBA, and recommendations from the a Surgeon General and Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Do I have a chance at getting into this nursing program??"

ME: "OMG, yes you do! PayPal me your seat deposit and orientation will be in 2 months, see ya then!"

THEM: "I passed NCLEX!! This is how I passed!"

ME: "Gasp! The magic formula! Now EVERYONE will pass!!"

THEM: "Don't go into nursing!"

ME: "Ok, I wont. Don't know what I wouldn't have done without you. After all, I cant make my own decisions. I'll just listen to some faceless unknown dweeb and make this life-altering decision based on your one post. Oh thank you!"

I really hate when people come here to get their jollies winding us up on some kind of hot button issue. They usually make a lot of simple spelling or word usage mistakes and spell things like Leptomeningeal carcinomatosis correctly. I really don't like them because there is a slim chance that the person is sincere and I wouldn't want to be a big 'ol meanie and all that entails.

Duplicate post

The "Is it possible to" questions annoy me. When I see a post saying something like "Is it possible to work and go to nursing school?"

Is it possible to have kids and go to nursing school"

I want to respond in the largest font possible, with just one word- No.

Here's a copy and paste of a few "Is it possible" threads...

No, you didn't violate HIPAA because housekeeping asked for a band-aid.

"Is nursing the field for me? I like bunnies and I changed my cousins diaper once. I just think this would be the best job ever. Is it like, hard? I don't have to clean throw-up, do I? Do you think I should pick this field? "

Yes, you should pick a different field. You clearly have two brain cells left, and they don't get along.
