FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

huh, my 27th birthday is the 19th, were only a couple days apart!

okay so I have a friend that got a denial letter last week if that helps anyone in the are the letters out yet, so im presuming if you didnt get a denial letter as of lately then its looking up

Well no letter today. But I still think that this is our week. If not I am sure by next week the letters will be in our mailboxes. Until then.......:anbd:

Usually the denial letters say the minimum point required, so what was it???

Yea I got the wonderful notice from Fccj stating the 150% rule and that my "EFC" is too much...why can't the state of FL understand that yes I have parents but no! They are not contributing to my education especially not 24k??? My next route is a private loan prolly through suntrust since I have my staffords through them so I feel pretty screwed by the FAFSA this year atleast next year ill be 24 and I won't be considered a dependent right now I'm a "dependent" that pays rent a car note insurance for a cell phone food water and electricity to study with...ofcourse this is all contingent on my acceptance... By the way where are those freakin letters at? Can I slip a 20 to someone at north campus to give it to me now??? Lol

I know how you feel. They also don't take into count how much your mortgage and other bills are. It amazes me that my EFC is to high considering how broke I am.

which school did your friend apply? are they sending out denial letters already for fccj? i guess i should be happy then that i haven't received a letter yet if they send out the denial letters first.

Specializes in none.

Well, another day has gone by and still nothing. I guess we should be grateful we haven't gotten anything since the denial letters are going out first. We've made it through this far!! Not tooo much longer.

Thank you for that info. sorry for your friend; what was his/her point average?

well it was really strange because the denial letter was dated may the 19th, which was super early so im not sure if she did her application wrong or if she applied to the program to many times or what, but they had it written before the deadline, maybe they saw her coming im not sure, but I guess I shouldnt call her my friend more of an aquaintence, and Im kinda glad she didnt make it, and Im not trying to sound mean at all, but she was super annoying, and always started things with the teacher, not someone you want to be sitting next to in the nursing program!! I feel for her but at the same time its a sigh of relief, I would of had to dodge her like a plague!

I think I know what kind of letter she has received. I got it too. it was a letter of denial from last term (summer). basically stating that you could persuade another route at FCCJ, beside the RN program. it was very plain letter for encouragement for those like me that did not make it last summer. Actually I thought it was the denial letter too, but if you think about it the dead line was June 1st. so it's impossible to get a letter before (May).also the letter was black and white; not personal as they do for the denials letters at the nursing program. has any one has received that type of letter before?

whelp another day, the postal person has came and gone and left nothing but bills. No letter!!! I guess I'll hope for tomorrow:banghead:
