FCCJ Spring 2009
its really hard to be prepare for the hesi test first term......its really hard to study for because they dont teach half the stuff you are tested on, no one passed in my class, but it didnt matter, personally i think the hesi is a joke, its just luck of the draw, or if your a good at guesser you'll be okay!!! pharm and concepts are self taught, all our teachers did was read the powerpoints for us and most of the days we met face to face all we did was presentations assignments, so dont expect your teachers to hold your hand, or piggy back you throught the program, you have to study on the days you dont meet face to face, and it will all seem overwhelming!!!!!! but take it one test at a time..... some good advice: develop a study group, you cant do it all on your own, trust me! take it a test at a time, study for the upcoming test as soon as thats over study for the next starting right after that test. READ THE BOOK IN CONCEPTS!!!!!! powerpoints were not helpful in that class ALL OTHER CLASSES KNOW YOUR POWERPOINTS FRONT AND BACK!! they will be strictly testing off of those, and thats a promise! for pharm, concentrate on your lecture notes, know them more so than your powerpoints, they are both helpful, but the lecture notes are more helpful!! know that it is impossible to read everything!!! if you dont believe me than try it for a week, and then you will understand what i mean, you just have to know what exactly to concentrate onbecause its waytoo much information for one little brain!!! WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT SOLEY STUDY STUDY GUIDES FOR TESTS, MOST OF THE TIME THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL AT ALL!! TRUST ME, IF YOU STUDY ALL OF THE STUFF I TELL YOU YOU WILL PASS, AS LONG AS YOU DO THE WORK!!! GOOD LUCK, NEW ONES, IM ROUTING FOR YOU!!!!

FCCJ Spring 2009
heads up about classes, pharm and concepts are practically self taught so the two teachers you should really be paying attention to are techniques, and health assessment....

FCCJ Spring 2009
well if you guys get accepted get ready for complete unorganized chaos!, and really really really take into consideration picking gooooood teachers, because there are a few classes that are suffering that consequence as we speak! good luck!

FCCJ Fall 2008
well at least im not the only one that feels completely defeated in these classes, its almost like some of our teachers have got so much going on in their lives like work , and school themselves that when it comes to teaching us we get the shaft, i get the feeling that some are just there for a paycheck and could care less if we get efficient training or not. i feel so completely unprepaired, and even if we studied it wont be on the test ughhh.....i feel like I could break down and cry:cry:

you will be fine getting in, but let me tell you first semester aint no joke! if i were you id start studying dosage calc, med term, and iv calc and get it finished before orientation, becasue once your 4 classes start and you have those to study for as well, it consumes alllllllll ooooooffff your tiiiiiiiiime! no joke! and testing in the nursing program is like nothing you have ever tested on before, i learned that today actually with our first health assessment test! I studied everything they told us and felt totally prepared, and i dont even know if i passed the stinking test, and im a straight A student 4.0! WHOA! wake up call, hold on to your seat if you get in, cause your in for a ride!

FCCJ Fall 2008
well , im excited for you!! so things have come to work out quite well, sometimes we tend to panic, and we just need to take a deep breath and let things work themselves out.....i was under the impression that your whole world was falling apart! and when that happens we need to take the time to get things back in order ya know! I didnt want to come across as discouraging, but if things wernt going to work out I didnt want you feeling horrible about it! but im happy for you, and I cant wait to start classes with you! and maybe we can all carpool to help save on that 100 dollars a week on gas! i know I need it! well i know you'll sleep easier tonight, so get a good nights rest!

FCCJ Fall 2008
okay im gonna say this but I want everyone to know first that I have nothing but good intentions but I do feel strongly that it should be said.......okay a few years ago me and my husband were going to buy a house we prayed about it because we really wanted it, it seemed like no matter what we did bad stuff kept happenig preventing us to buy the house, but we pushed and almost ignored Gods will for us, which was to wait, we almost signed this contract with a crazy intrest rate just because we wanted what we wanted, last minute we decided that if the process didnt happen without us pushing and making it happen on our own will then it wasnt Gods will for us to buy the house, I was devistated, but a few years later I know that if we would have bought that house it would have been a catastrophy......I guess what I am trying to say without trying to be mean is maybe pushing the issue isnt the best thing right now becasue you will still have the same issues as far as bills, no transportation, and everything else you have to take care of.......maybe it will be a whole lot more stress free is you took this time to prepare for the spring, get all of your other life issues straightend out, and start fresh with a clear head and less problems.....I hope you dont take this the wrong way or anybody else, Im just speaking from experience, God gives each of us our own free will and if we decide to follow what we think is right all the time, it makes for a rougher road ahead......am i making any sense!!! I have been praying for you, but for Gods will to take place in your life, and sometimes thats not easy to swallow.....I wish you the best Melanie, but I know that Gods way is a whole lot easier in the long run....I want you to attend the nursing program, graduate, and be the best nurse mommy you can be...I swear! but dont set yourself up for the rough road!!! I say all of this with love, I really do, and im gonna keep praying for you! but if you do push the issue, i will help you any way that I can!

FCCJ Fall 2008
Melanie, I want to remind you that everything happens for a reason, I know you have been praying but sometimes what we want isnt whats right for us even if we dont see it that way at the time, Just know that there is a reason, maybe this could be a good thing, because you know what to expect next semester, you know you will get in, so now all you have to do is take the next four months to straighten everything else out for the spring, maybe with all the other pressure you wouldnt have been able to give it your all to your full potential, I know this sounds crazy but try to think of it as a blessing of time to deal with some stuff....you already know your smart enough to get in, and now you have 4 whole months to learn your dosage calculations and medical terminology! just promise me you wont give up! and keep on praying because he knows the plans he has for you, not to harm you but to give you a future, his timing is not our timing! ill be praying for you chica!

FCCJ Fall 2008
okay so i have an idea for the ones in section 11...heres my thoughts....maybe on tuesdays because we have class like all freakin day...we could meet somewhere in the middle where everyone lives, have lunch and then carpool to north campus taking turns....i just think that it would save a whole lot of money for gas, ya know....let me know what ya think!
