Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

We had to have 10 when I was in Peds, but I heard you guys only have to do 2. If no one replies, I will check with Macke and let you know! =)

Wow...is it just me or is time flying like crazy??? Its a good and bad thing. I mean I'm happpy to get through this quickly, but some days I'm just like where did it go. I think we are all going to be in shock when we are done. Like, what the heck do we do now? This program has consumed my life. And its going to be weird actually having one again. lol Anyways, how is everyone doing?? It feels like forever and a day since I've been on here. Hope everyone is doing well. 2 more months and we are in 4th term. Wooooo hooo..lol

You know it's crazy to see how far we have come. I realized this the other day when our 4th semester schedule came out. We started this thread way back before we were even accepted! How time flies! We should seriously throw a party or have a meet and greet with everyone from this forum who made it at the end. I know I have still to meet half of you. Good luck to everyone and I am so happy we are almost there!

Hey guys...I'm about to start 3rd term and thought about taking my lpn boards in December when all is said and done to get a feel for the boards, get my foot in the door at a hospital and to make more $ than a CNA. Have any of you known anyone to do that, or thought about doing it yourself? I think I already know the answer to this question since FCCJ is less than stellar in supporting students in general, but do any of you know if FCCJ even signs the paperwork that enables you to sit for the boards?

I thought about doing that but the cost of doing it just to turn around and get my RN outweighed the benefits. You more than likely won't get a job as an LPN in hospital, probably more like a LTC or nursing home (just a heads up). FCCJ will sign off on it, as one of my friends did it.

We should definitely have a PARTY!!! lol It would be sooo good to see everyone. Even if its just meeting up at a chili's or something like that. We are getting closer and closer to being there. I just finished my last OB clinical today :) No more clinicals till the big Term 4. Yay!!! We can do this. There is no doubt in my mind. The finish line is so near :yeah:
