Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
Hey guys.. Term 1 night/weekender here... we just completed our simulations and have clincals coming up on Saturday, followed by our Techniquest final exam... only problem is that our instructors haven't mentioned anything about what to study for the final. So.. is it just like the quizzess that we've taken, do we need to really study the vocabulary words on the syllabus? Just looking for a little direction. Thanks
Hi, I am currently in term 1. For our techniques class we have to take a HESI exam worth 100 points. Can anyone give me any information on it? I am not sure what to expect, is there a study guide, and is it difficult? Thanks for your help.
Hope I'm not too late...I haven't read through all of the posts...but I am in Term II and in term I when I took the HESI I had NO IDEA what I was doing LOL! I suggest investing in "nursing made insanely easy" and the skinny blue HESI book from the bookstore (FYI that book also helps with your classes, really good drug info for pharm). And something you already have..evolve. I know we all roll our eyes at that site (I did too!!). I had the rep sit down with me and show me how to use the site so it helps alot more now. If they didn't remember in orientation, or classes...take your books and look up the 'resource' link on the evolve site. You can have all of your (evolve) books resourced on the site, and there are NCLEX-stlye pre/post questions for EVERY chapter and outlines if you're one that uses them. I got like a 6 something on my term I HESI:uhoh3:, but on the Psych one I just took I got a 966! So my best advice is doing alot of questions b/c it trains you to critically think like a nurse. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Ok so I am totally going to ask to see if anyone in our term or later terms knows the schedule for fourth term? Is it AH II for 8 or 12 weeks then role transformation for 3 or 4 weeks? I've heard conflicting stories here (surprise surprise) and need to know when we will be done. They said we have our pinning ceremony roughly Dec 7th. Does that mean we are totally done by then? Or are we supposed to actually be done when the rest of the school is done the week of the 14th Dec? I know we have a way to go but I don't know anyone in later terms than us. I don't want to ask the nursing department because I am sure they will get it wrong!! Thanks for reading!!

No study guide, but it goes off of foundations. There is a Hesi book they made us buy this semester and I heard it is a wonderful study guide. I got a 75 on it, and that is the grade they tell you to shoot for.
