Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
Wow!!! It has been sooo long since I posted on here. I remember that this site was my favorite to visit while waiting for those wonderful acceptance letters. Now we are almost done with our first term. Its insane how time goes by soooo fast.
In response to clinicals, they are AWESOME!!!! I've been fortunate to get amazing patients :) So far, I've done vitals, bed baths, cleaned, done an accucheck, and gotten to spend a whole day in dilaysis with my patient (absolutely awesome!!!). I'm ready to learn how to do everything though and can't wait.
Well........I hope everyone is enjoying nursing school as much as I am. Yes, the tests may be tough, the studying tedious, but this experience is amazing.
And Danielle........I love our group too!!
Ok so is anybody else out there just a tad peeved about our super exciting and totally awesome selections for term 2? I hate to ***** but if its not one thing its another and I can't seem to pull a number better than 127 or 122. AHHHH!!! Good for all ya'll that were able to pick the sections you wanted. As for myself and quite a few others I've talked to, we are just gonna grin and bear it I suppose. Ok 'nuff 'bout that! Just thought I'd try to revive the ole thread once again. Enjoy your day off everyone!
lol...Today was insane. I can't believe we did it by lottery. But I have to say I'm super happy with the section I got (section 7). My group is staying together and we have great professors!!! I feel the bad #'s though..I had 105. Hope everyone is having a good week and enjoys their holiday..yay :)

I just wish I knew what I got. My daughter called me at 1215 and said she had a fever and her throat was killing her (seriously the child has slept since 1 pm yesterday only getting up to eat a few bites when I woke her up). Well I was supposed to take my HESI at 1 so I went to find Ms B to tell her that I had to go take care of my sick kid and she seriously got a psycho about me not having anyone else to get my sick kid. Sorry my hubby is on deployment and my brother works out of town during the week and I have the other 2 people on her emergency card were at work. GRR either way they had me leave the sections I wanted and said they would draw a number for me. I dunno, I guess I will get whatever is left over. I just cannot do the night and/or weekend section. Thanks for 'listening' to me vent...

You might have gotten Section 7..its the only one that had open slots at the very end. The one night class and weekend won't be bad...just 8 weeks. We also have really good professors. No matter what happens, you will do just fine. And i'm sorrry they were not soo understanding with your daughter. Poor thing!!! I hope she feels better. Keeep your head up girl and everything will work out.

I just don't have childcare. The nights and weekends wouldn't bother me if I had realible childcare for it. It is hard to pawn off 4 kids! lol
She is much better now that the penicillin is working. Crazy my 4 year old had strep over a month ago and now she got it, I am just wondering when my turn will be. haha My two year old also came down with impatigo and my 7 year old and I are having troubles with our asthma. It never ends I swear.
I can't believe we're done with Term I!!! I can't express how much fun I've had with you guys/gals....
I'm in Section 12. Most of my Term I sisters/brothers are in different sections . But, I know we'll all meet up again. I have Psych & Leadership this term. So far (looking @ the syllabus) it seems ok...but, we'll see after the weeks go by.

My first day was awesome! I am so lucky to have the classmates I have. I'm sure everyone is awesome, most of the people I meet are. I just think my class is so tightknit and we are always there for each other. I totally love you guys!
