FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Sorry to hear that, Mel. I'd be interested to see the tests and what adjustments were made.

Ah they probably won't retest. I think each term has a problem with a test. We had one with Pharm and Concepts. With the pharm test, the night classes had review questions that were close to the test. I mean the questions were re-worded but they were the same basic concept and the answers were the same.

With concepts, almost everyone failed. It was horrible; I think my class average was a 58. But they just went through and threw out questions and gave us a curve based on the questions they threw out. Unless someone gets a lawyer involved, I doubt they will restest you.

Specializes in Intensive Care Unit.

I dont know what the crap is going on with those Health Assessment tests, but it would not be fair if they counted those grades.

The class/session with the professor who made the test has a gigantic advantage over the other 6 classes because of course, that teacher knows the material. Get what I'm saying?

I'm only assuming that she also teaches HA, which is a big assumption; seeing that the Pharm Coordinator teaches, well you guessed it, PHARM.

Good luck to all of you with the IV Calc test on Monday!

Term I :: Good Luck on the test tomorrow! See you in smoke cessation class...lol

I don't know why I am still up this late! I was hoping there were some powerpoints for techniques tomorrow, but I don't see any. Maybe we will just study???

I'm totally in a studying slump, I've been sick the past couple of days and my energy is gone. I'm gonna start taking some stuff my doctor gave me, so maybe that'll help. (If he is not just a quack.)

I think it is safe to say that this thread is officially dead. All that's left is the funeral song...BTW anyone else feeling like death warmed over?

I could not have said it better. Simulations for Tue. is coming far to soon. I feel like my brain is so full of information that it will soon come leaking through my ears. I am so exhausted.:(:sniff:

Aw, our poor thread. Such a sudden turn for the worse...

Yeah, feeling overwhelmed, understudied, and generally confused. What day is it? Don't even ask me.

Techniques Sim, techniques final, clinical start, pharm final.

My head hurts just to type it.

Sigh.

Yeak ok now I'm overwhelmed! I am livin' at the lab lately and I just hope it helped. Probably go again tomorrow. AAHHH!!!!

Remember for dressing change to put your mask on top so you remember to put it one first...

the most important thing about the catheter is that you remain sterile...

IV- make sure you take off the tornakit (sp)

Make sure you use lubricate on the NG tube...umm I think that is all

ooh and prime the line with your piggy back =) gooood luck

I'm gonna try to start something that I've heard a lot of 3rd and 4th termers suggest. They say to get a group together of people who will do part of each chapter/unit objectives. Everyone can exchange the study guides made from that and that way it is less work. I think I;m starting to get how much that can really help. Now I just gotta get some other people to do it with me!

That sounds like a great idea. I'm in it with you, if you want to do it.

I've brought this up plenty of times with the people in my class, but none want to do it. LoL.

Just let me know if this is a go.
