Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
HEY guys! can we all agree that whomever gets on here first with their acceptance letter to add what the min points were or how many you had??? That'll be something everyone else will be wondering anyway whom hadn't gotten their letter yet so I figured it would help...Whatdoya think?:yeah:
Hey where is Chamblins? I don't believe I've heard of that.
I think posting as soon as we get the letter is a great idea. I know I check this website every morning, hourly, until I get my mail. So yeah it would be great to know if I should expect mine on a certain day
Does anyone know how student loans work? I have applied for a student loan because I know I will not ave the cash and I dont qualify for the grants and stuff. When should I hear something? I applied back at the end of May. Do loans not get awarded until closer to the semester to start?
I work as a Technical Imaging Assistant in Peds Radiology. I love it. It has its days, as does anything else, but its great.
molse001 I have been trying to get my foot in the door at wolfson's. I really want to works in peds so I have been trying to get a job there doing anything. Do you know of any open positions? You can email me if you would like [email protected] Any ideas you have I would love to hear.
So I got really happy yesterday because I got a letter from the FCCJ Nursing Program.
I opened it, and I saw the words, "you are going to be pleased that..."
I thought I got into the Nursing Program.
But it was a letter about the upcoming BSN Program. LoL.
I laughed. =)) I'm still nervous about that letter. Bahhhh.
bsilvia88 I got the same letter, except when I saw the small envelope with nursing department stamped on it I was freaking out because I thought the small envelope meant I didn't get in. For some reason I envision the acceptance packet to be in a 8.5X11 envelope. Tomorrow has to be our day.
That sounds like a really cool job. What area would like you to go into after school? Or maybe you'd like to stay with Peds? My kids are 2(almost 3) and 1. It's going to be a challenge to find childcare. I'll use the one at North Campus a little but want to use local people for the most part. I had wanted to do nights/weekends but of course it's not offered for fall. I'm looking forward to the work, though, and making some good friends. Chamblin's rocks!
Thanks..I'm quite grateful for it. I have my top 3 departments I would love to work in after school...Labor and Delivery..Pediatrics..Oncology. I have no idea where I will end up though. The best thing about nursing is that if you aren't happy then you can easily find another one. What departments would you like to work in??
I think the child care situation will work out. There are many people in your shoes and everyone will be of course skeptical about where to place their child/ children. If anyone is interested in placing their child in daycare, I know of a great one. The name of it is HisKids Daycare. It is located right off of Normany, right across the Street from Famous Amos. The daycare is a part of the church I go to and is somewhere I once worked. I know for a fact that it is a great place to send your child. The down side is that it is expensive, but they do have scholarships. So please feel free to check them out.
I am also looking forward to school and making some amazing friends. If you need anything let me know. We should know something some time soon.
Whoa...what's this about a BSN letter?? I never got one either. I also think our nursing acceptance letter will be in a big envelope..lol. UGHHHHH..I just want to know. Hopefully this will be our week. What could be better than getting a nursing acceptance letter, the same week of July 4th?? If we do get it this week..I will be celebrating!!!

I fully agree!!!!
I have read that before on previous posts of those awaiting their letters. If you get the small business size envelope - you didn't get it. If you get the big fat 8 x 11 - you got in! But, I have not received the letter on the BSN info either... oh well, I just want the big fat one to arrive!!!
