Fall 2010 Lonestar ADN Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody! I just wanted to start a thread where all of us who are beginning the stressful process of worrying over Lonestar admissions can give each other some support!:yeah: I'm planning on applying to LSC-Montgomery - retaking Psych 2301 in a Second 8 Weeks class to get an*A,* and getting ready to take the HESI in November when Moco's testing opens. I'm freaking out over how much is on the line...must make an *A!* Must blow HESI out of the water!!!!!

Anyway, just wanted to say good luck to everyone as their finishing up their prereqs and preparing for the HESI and ask...

LoneStar hopefuls...WHERE YOU AT?!! :heartbeat

Yeah, I tried looking at past classes and I did not see much talk about stethoscopes. My biggest question I guess is whether it can be colored or not. I really need to find out so my mother in law can purchase me this. If not she said she was looking at getting me a pair of earring from jaems avery... I need a stethoscope much mroe than earrings lol. Does anyone have any info about what they require for stethoscopes?

I really dont think their are anything stating on stethoscope restrictions or what nots. I read a few post fro other people (not all specifically lone star students) that you want your stethoscope to stand out and be different. They say people take them/borrow them 'for a sec' and they never come back. So get them engraved or whatnots. If your that worried, give the department a call. They have their contact info in the acceptance letter. then report back what you find out if you do.

People have been mentioning something about packets. All I got was a letter of acceptance from NH. Got in with 11.57. Was I supposed to get more than a letter?

Hi I also got the acceptance letter no packet.

Along with my acceptance letter from Montgomery I got something about a background check and a letter of intent I need to fill out and return.

I noticed NH has a link on their nursing website for 2010 admits. Maybe their info is just online?

The fall class schedule is up!

I have to say I'm pretty worried about the clinical schedule for montgomery. It's only WTH 6:30-2. I have to get my oldest child on the bus at 7:25, drop the other ones off at their grandmother's house, and then go to school. NH has a Sat clinical that would be perfect. They even have one that's 12pm-10pm. Those would be so much better. I'm not sure how I'm going to work this out :uhoh3:.

Where did you find that on the website? I wonder if it is the same for Cy-fair?..

You know, I must say I am still in a state of "Wow, it's finally happening" :lol2: , but Im also starting to get super nervous :uhoh3: ! Is it just me? Or is anyone else feeling like this?

Candy 82, i agree im super excited but a little nervous or maybe just more anxious, after working so hard for so long, its surreal. Im happy to hear schedules are up I will have to take a look, North Harris wasnt my first choice but now im glad thats where im going, seems they have more options with scheduling with it being a larger program. It did make me nervous not getting any info with the acceptance letter though, its different having everything online, but convenient as long as no body losses emails and what not. Makes me a bit nervous

Hello everyone... CONGRATS to everyone who got in!! I am in my 2nd semester of nursing at North Harris. We didn't get a packet with our acceptance letter, we got the packets at orientation. To everyone that is on the alternate list... you have a chance of getting in!!

Congrats to anyone who has made it in!!

Does anyone know if lonestar has an rules about visible tattoos? I have one on my wrist and was wondering if it would be a problem.

Two things:

1) If anyone has started a 'Cy-Fair 2010' thread could you post/send the link please?

2) I know when I was getting ready to apply to a nursing program this website helped me tremendously!! If there are any lurkers who have questions or need some help, I am willing to give as much info as I can. I will say this, You DO NOT need all A's in the three pre'reqs. I had an A in both psych and english, but in my A&P I had a B. My credit hours were my 4pts and my HESI reading was a 97.831 or something similar to that which gave me higher points as well. It is good to have the A's of course, but it is also possible to be admitted with one B. Good luck to all future applicants.
