Had a student with frequent nausea come after lunch and said he bigfoot vomited ( it is gone and no one saw it). Came back 40 minutes later after he yacked in class, this time LOTS of people saw it, and I got to see it, too. Let's just say, this ain't viral puke. Had him drink and wait (really looked like stricture) and tolerated that. Called mom and she asked what I would do if this were my kid. I told her you may not want to follow my lead, I'm nasty. She agreed to keep student at school! Wow, that was a first for this year. I found another rockstar parent here.

Bigfoot vomited, keeping that one.

I always tell them 'if I didn't see it, it didn't happen'. I send them back to class with plastic grocery bags to 'prove it'. A teacher told the previous nurse that I was examining the vomit (WTH?!), so she wanted to know what I was doing with the vomit. Well DERRRRR.

Also, "Bigfoot Vomit" OMG!!!!!! I'm with NutmeggeRN, I think I need a shirt or at least sign for my clinic! :)

Love it! Had a kid come in yesterday saying he vomited in the lunch room. After some intense interrogating he admitted to punching himself in the stomach until he vomited. My response: That's called consequences. Back to class. (Also let admin know)

I had a middle schooler insist on calling home about a sore throat. I, of course, spoke to dad first and explained that she's healthy enough to stay at school. After she got off the phone with dad she looks devastated and says "my dad told me to suck it up."
