I did everything you can think of I spent over $3000 trying to take this exam with no job and a 7 month old what else can I do I hate this feeling I hate to doubt God but he let devil take power over him what else can i do!!! I am giving up maybe nursing is not for me maybe I just love people and not nursing as a career because this is too much for me to handle
3 - I'm curious about someone's assertion that "tons of nurses take the NCLEX several times and are great nurses". Ok....based on what evidence? I don't believe this to be the case.....and it's entirely likely that the person who THINKS someone who takes a half dozen attempts to pass the exam is a great nurse is ignorant of just what a "great nurse" actually is.
'Nuff said.
Thanks for saying that! As near as I can figure they're talking about "great customer service skills" or "compassionate to the 9th degree," and we all know there's more to nursing than that. Don't we?

I would be willing to bet that most of us can indeed tell that nurse who has taken NCLEX +3 times.
As far as the OP, maybe it is time to take a break. Clear your mind, maybe get some counseling. If your former instructors are available to you to talk, ask them for some guidance.
Whatever you're doing now, stop doing it. It isn't working. You need a big game change, and I doubt there's anyone here who knows you well enough to help you find out what that is.
I do wish you the best in whatever your future holds.
Don't ever blame God because he did his part, he blessed you with the opportunity to get accepted into nursing school over other applicants. If you passed nursing school then you should be able to at least pass NCLEX by the second or third try. God gave you the blessing now it's up to you to do your part, just like in nursing school. Try a new study plan or take a NCLEX prep class like Hurst or Kaplan.
Dont give up on what you worked so hard for. Do some of you realize that most Physicians took the boards many times before they could practice? Many great nurses took the boards a few times too. Even JFK junior took the bar 3 times before he could practice law. ...Everyone has a right to vent off and on. Those critics congrats on passing and start act like one by reserving judgment. Good luck
To the Nclex 5th time fail, don't listen to anyone here who says to throw in the towel and to give up. Don't give up, pray, study, refresh, repeat...do your best in studying and build your confidence with the knowledge content. Don't let any negativity slow you down or deter you from your dream. Nclex test taker does not determine what type of nurse you are once you get on the other side as a RN. Keep on and finish strong!!

Well, passing the NCLEX certainly determines whether or not one becomes an RN. Passing the NCLEX means one has demonstrated minimal competency standards. Most nurses (85%-90% I believe) pass the first time. Many of these nurses (myself included) also did not need the various review programs. Attending and performing well in a good nursing program is the most important basis for passing, in my opinion.

I like the one that goes, "Even a blind pig finds a truffle now and then."
God or Satan is not responsible for not passing NCLEX. That is foursquare on the test-taker. There are several good suggestions here for how to be successful in taking NCLEX. Use them. After all, God helps those who help themselves.
