Paid in cash, little by little, finishing up last CLEP on Friday, and the best part is when I get done with it all, NO STUDENT LOANS to pay back:yeah:

I work an average of 100 hours a week, so money really is not a problem. Cash

I am using tuition reimbursement from work for the test, the rest is out of pocket. But when I am done no student loans to pay!!! :yeah::yeah::yeah:

Paying cash here too. Hooray for no loans to pay back!

As far as getting loans to pay for an Excelsior ADN, they would probably have to be private loans, since federal student loans can not be used to pay for the examination based program.

If you need to use federal student loans, you might look at doing the Indian State University LPN-BSN program, which I think you CAN use federal student loans for. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that....)

I used a combination of my own cash, a scholarship, and employer reimbursement.

Paid in money earned by working. Never occurred to me to take out loans.

Lot's of o.t. baby! No student loans. Planning to do the same for BSN. If you plan to apply for financial aid do it, because Excelsior offers scholarships to some people based on that. I received one, and it helped out so much.

tuition reimbursement from employer

I used their payment plan, but I don't think that they offer that anymore. You basically pay $130 a month and all of your test fees and everything are included in with that in a year's time.

VA benefits. :)

I took out a personal loan, enough for everything like books, airfare, hotel, etc. I have paid it off too.
