I am attempting to put together some of the scary situations I have experienced in my nursing career. Not the patient scary things but the nurse on nurse issues. The drama, the back stabbing, the blame game. I have a list of them including a nurse manager fabricating a med error (determined unfounded by the state because I had excellent documentation) in order to be able to fire me the day after I refused to increase my patient load when I was running my butt off (1 doctor had just completely re-written all the orders on like 3 of my patients, while several nurses sat reading magazines at the nurses station.) I have been blacklisted from school nurse jobs after I brought documentation to the superintendent that having a teacher's aide suction and tube feed a student is basically practicing nursing without a license (I was informed about a week later that my contract would not be renewed) and most recently I reported an issue to the state (about injury to a patient when someone else didn't do their job) and when the state investigator came the incident had somehow been blamed on me (0nce again my documentation saved me when I had the email I had sent to my supervisor about the incident and she confirmed that the other person had dropped the ball).
So I guess what I am saying is has anyone else had issues? Back stabbing, scapegoating, or just down-right unprofessional treatment? I am to the point where I don't want to be a nurse because I am afraid I can't trust anyone to be honest and professional. What does everyone or anyone think?
I think when one posts in an internet forum one needs to be prepared for different opinions even if it conflicts with your own.

This is a Message sent to me in regard to the "crap" people have replied to my posting...great example of professionalism you guys are putting out here. Such compassion and caring attitudes put out by many of you. After my first thread I am cancelling my membership...just thought I 'd let some of you know how some feel about the chaos that this great site has become. Again...thank you for your input...
"Allnurses is a wonderful forum. But it is best to stick with questions regarding furthering your education, nclex, and maybe some other subjuects I cant think of right now. Allnurses is too controversial now. Especially wen explaining a unfortunate situation u have gone thru in ur nursing career. PEOOLE WILL JUMP DOWN UR THROAT. Very few may be sympathetic to ur blight but hardly any. Its best jus to read post.."like" them then kiss them and move on. Constantly clarifying what your post is about is totally USELESS. This is the one thing I do not like about this site. To many people trying to make controversy and tio many overly sensitive people. Thank greatness for the moderators"
Thank you to the person who sent me this supportive message the rest of guys have fun ripping apart your fellow nurses...you guys just gave me the best story for what I was looking for!

It's interesting to me -- and says a lot about you -- that what you took from this entire thread is that you've been abused.

So.... You're going to write a degree level paper about people disagreeing with each other on a public forum?
It's sad that you didn't take anything from this: no advice, no feedback, no opportunity to self-reflect. It's all about perspective and you're going to perceive that you were "bullied" and that you were "ripped to shreds". But, unfortunately, it really just keeps confirming our suspicions in your reactions to these things.
I noticed you posted in another thread about how you were bullied (not sure of the exact wording) and torn apart in a thread you started (here) so again I'm asking you, how are you part of the solution if you keep dragging this stuff around with you and sharing it with anyone who will listen? Maybe start a thread where you ask what people love about nursing or even their coworkers.
That message was really difficult to read so there might be other reasons that poster doesn't like posting in the forums.
Good luck working on your MSN. I would probably avoid any research papers that can be so emotionally charged or are written using anecdotes as the base of your idea, but I think/hope you already know that. Even an "emotional" topic can be presented in an unbiased way using good research and EBP. Just some friendly advice.

Like I said, group dynamics is interesting both at work and in Internet forums. Definitely an interesting paper to research and write.
