Do you wear makeup?

I have been wondering about this for some time now! lol

Does anyone worry about hair/makeup while in school and at clinicals/on the job? It may sound silly for me to ask, but for me, knowing how "dirty" the job can be, it helps me to feel good if I am well groomed. (does that make sense?!)

Anyway, just wondering what your thoughts are on this!

I wear very little make up, clean, healthy skin, moisturizer,mascara and groomed brows - I think the clean professional look is important.

My patients could care less if I look my best...

as long as I bring the pain meds/epidurals!

I don't wear makeup on or off the job, unless it's a very special occasion like a wedding or for formal pictures.

Me neither. I went to Marshall Field's once to get a lipstick for a special occasion to wear with the foundation which is the only makeup I wear even on special occasions otherwise. I let myself get talked into having some eye makeup and such applied just to dress me up. The look on my husband's and son's faces when I got back to where they were was priceless. Of course, my husband scored major points when he told me his objection was that I am so beautiful without makeup that he thought putting all that goop on my face just hid my natural beauty behind a bunch of paint. Needless to say I went home and washed it all off then just put on my normal dressy bit of foundation plus a light brush of lipstick, and both he and I (not to mention Peanut) were all much happier with the outcome. :rotfl:

Yes, I use it, but am a "beauty sped" as my friends have dubbed me. I wear enough to keep from scaring small children in the parkinglot, but that's about it. If it takes longer than a couple of minutes -- NOPE. SO, I guess I am a minimalist in the makeup department. ( Hair -- wash and go style -- missing my ponytail . Since I got it cut short, I actually need to do stuff with it!)

I've gotten where I just go for concealer, foundation, powder, a tiny bit of blush, and a tad of mascara for clinicals. I save the lipstick, eyeliner, and eye shadow for class days and "I want to look less like a haglet days."

May I suggest....Mary Kay? That's the only makeup I (and several of my classmates) have discovered will look just as fresh after a clinical shift as when you first arrived.

do i wear makeup? as a rule i try not to. i would hate to cover my beard. where i work 100% of the girls do wear make up.

Being a night nurse, using a small flashlight in the pts rooms, I don't bother with makeup. No one really sees my face anyway. I suppose I do give the day people a scare when the lights come on.

I wear makeup just about every place other then work.
