I talk to myself, both on and off the job. I've overheard many of my colleagues doing the same.
Do you talk to yourself? If so, what are the topics of conversation?
I talk to myself quite a bit. The CNAs I work with regularly don't even bat an eye anymore when I do it. Anyone who picks up a night shift is usually caught off guard when I start in. Usually I'm talking about my own clumsiness, wondering why I can't find anything I need, swearing and yelling at the computer because PointClick Care froze up again right when I really needed it, or wondering why that one person who is on their call light 60 times doesn't ever seem to sleep at night.
I have also been known to lecture myself. I always start it out with my first and middle name 😒 lol. I did this actually yesterday. I usually work 2nd shift and picked up a 1st and kept trying to punch out PM meds instead of AM meds. I said "LittleCandles Marie, it is 8am.. Dang it, Stop grabbing the 8pm meds."
I have frequent and full 2 sided conversations with myself. Generally inside my head, but sometimes outloud. And if it's in my head I'll be making facial expressions.
It's my way of working through an issue (big or small). One side of me is reasonable and the other side is devil's advocate. Kinda like making a mental pro/con list.

I talk to myself all day long. I even answer myself at times. It helps me organize my thoughts, work through problems, and plan what I want to say. I've always said that I am my own therapist because I will give myself full blown therapy sessions (usually happens on the car).
