  1. Rest in peace. This makes me so sad.
  2. "You are an adult. You can see when your pill bottle is almost empty. No, it is not my responsibilty to know when you need a refill. Call your pharmacy!" Actually I would love to have that as my voicemail greeting.
  3. LPN 1997
  4. I am in Illinois and was certified through the hospital I where I worked.
  5. I work with a nurse who tells pts way too much. Too much about office politics as well as too much about herself. I finally told her the other day that when pts ask how she is they are being nice and don't want a rundown of her life troubles. Of course she just looked at me like I had two heads...
  6. I would be embarassed to report something so petty.
  7. Southern Illinois, almost 18 yrs experience, $16/hr in a Private Practice. But the Doc also pays for my health insurance and we get a hefty Christmas bonus.
  8. My biggest annoyance are the patients who want to be sick. They want to be refered to endless specialists and want every possible test done. I really want to tell them that they are taking up time I need for people who ARE sick!
  9. This thread is exactly why I love AN! BTW, I'm closing in COB status (17 yrs) but have been a COB-at-heart for years!
  10. 1. It is difficult to focus on the positive aspects of my job. 2. Sometimes, if you are lucky, Holier-than-Thou coworkers get knocked off the High Horse by their own actions. 3. It still brightens my day when a patient thanks me and means it.
  11. I always "frisk" myself when I need a pen. Then remember I'm not wearing scrubs with 10 pockets. LOL My 5 yo granddaughter washes her hands like a nurse and I love it. After using public BRs she also asks for Purell because..."maybe someone didn't wash her hands and got poop on the door". I love that kid!
  12. When I worked LTC the "Scrub Van" came a couple times a year. We all loved it. I hate ordering without being able to try on but live almost an hour from the nearest scrub store.
  13. I learned that being an honest, hard working employee only gets you **** on and that I need a new job.
  14. The new office "manager" at our Practice has brought a chicken, yes a chicken, to work on two different occasions. She asked if I could get her a syringe to feed the first one. I firmly explained the difference between a nurse and a vet tech.
