Do Nurses STILL want to marry Doctors?

REALITY CHECK!

After reading some of other threads, a theme of nurse-doctor dating/marrying prevails...

I thought we were past that...maybe not.

Reminds me of the throwback nurses of the 1950's and 1960's who were gah-gah over the television characters Dr. Kildare and Dr. Ben Casey...

...or the nurses of the 1970's who cooed over the television character Dr. Marcus Welby and also actor James Brolin...(Forgive I can't remember if James Brolin Performed in TV program Marcus Welby, MD or Medical Center)...

I thought we were all past that...

I can remember some women, yes women, admitting to entering the nursing profession in order "to meet and marry a doctor."...

I don't get it.

Are we still salivating the ancient fantasies of the past?

Do Nurses STILL want to marry Doctors?

Oh heck no.... they have no life. And besides, they canoodle with other nurses in the linen closet when they're working. :lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:

nuh uh.. heck no... no way.. not in this lifetime, never ever, not if doctors were the only bachelors left on the planet. Did I say no?

I'd marry a younger doctor......but only if he were NOT an OB-GYN - Completely unable to talk about work then......

Can't imagine a woman today who thinks a doctor is a good catch. Even if they have hospitalists to cover inpatient, they are still on-call for phone. They don't make nearly as much money as people think. Most have had 2 or more wives plus children with each. The "glory days" of doctors is pretty much past. Or are we just getting smarter?

I'm already married to my true love, but if not, I would maybe think about a podiatrist who really likes to care for feet... *S*

Ick - I hate feet. :igtsyt: I can't even go get a pedicure.

I think OB/GYN's would be a bad choice . . for male nurses too, marrying a female nurse.

I don't know anyone who sets their sights for a doc . . . .

I worked with a couple of young nurses who wanted, and got her 'doctor',( don't know if it's good or not, of course they left the state to follow them ifor their career- one does miss her family) work with a couple of others married to doctors-internists I think, they have to work to pay the bills( the wives), IMHO NOOOOOOOOO Wayyyyyyyyyyyy !!!! Too much ego for me, and I'm just not a 'yes' girl...

yes. a peer of mine only entered nursing to find herself a "tall, handsome doctor." ideally, she wants to work for a couple of years and then become a housewife.

NO. If I wanted to live a Dr's lifestyle I would've become one. Don't want it, don't want to be married to it.

I'm in the middle of my BSN program with one year left after this semester and have heard several girls say they are going to marry a doctor. It seems silly to go all this way just to find a doctor, particularly if you plan on being a housewife.

I hate the word "housewife" but I love being a homemaker and stay-at-home mom.
