Did the PVT trick and paid the 200

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi all. I'm a graduate from a foreign nursing school. So I took the NCLEX-RN earlier this morning in MD. My test started at around 8:30 and I was done by 10:30 mostly because I decided that those questions that I had no clue on (which were admittedly quit a few), I'd just guess and keep moving.

At around 1:30 this afternoon, I tried the PVT trick and it took me all the way to the end where I put in my cc info and it was accepted. I'm awaiting a new ATT from my Board... I'm so discouraged right now because if this PVT trick really works, then that means I've failed.

I'd really like to know if there is anyone out there who actually paid the 200 and later on found out that they had passed. I've read so many posts on getting "the good popup" and passing and not enough on people who have actually gotten the bad pop-ups. Anyone out there who has been in this situation or something similar please reach out to me through this forum. Thanks

Thanks. I stopped on 75. Yes I took the NCLEX RN. Do you think next time I should try the NCLEX PN instead?

Hey. Did you get your results yet? Please keep me updated! Thanks for the encouragement!

Many, if not most States will find you ineligible to take the NCLEX-PN as you did not graduate from a school of practical nursing.

Beyond that.....there is little to no reason to believe that since you did very poorly on the RN exam that you would be in good shape to take the PN version. Don't waste time on that line of thinking....learn what you need to do to pass the NCLEX RN.

Ok thanks. But I was informed by my BON that I could take either one and according to the results I received, I came close to passing 7 of the 8 required skills so I'm not so sure I would be termed as do "very poorly".

Im officially a RN...Praise the Lord!!!..the tricks works for me..you can take LPN if you want too..I am going to take it next month coz I wanna work here in calif as an LPN..coz my RN is at Vermont and Im not ready to go there yet coz I need to take care of my family here in Calif so yeah I have to start studying again but since I seem know what to expect probably Il just continue on answering NCLEX questions..thats pretty all I did before i took my NCLEX RN test..keep answering questions..if theres any disease i dont understand i go back and read it and really absorb it and repeat..I dont memorized coz its too much info to memorized..but only lab values and familiarized on cranial nerves and ecgs at least the basic...many ecgs came out in my test..I studied anytime I want to..every sunday I dont study..but the night before the test I reviewed the 35 pages study guide that was in this site coz I cant go to sleep till midnight but which really helps.and a lottttt of prayer..I give time for the Lord to worship Him and attend Bible study and make a chapter summary..I dint break my schedule for the Lord because of my studying but instead His guidance everytime I study and that He will help me retain it and it works...Dont give up coz with Gods grace if you believe in God for sure all things is possible to our Creator..He is God of impossibilities coz He makes it possible :)

Justbepatient, the NCLEX-RN is good in all states after you pass. You just need to be licensed in the state you wish to work. There is no reason to put the time, money, effort & stress into taking the NCLEX-PN!

I said you did very poorly because the computer determined in only the minimum number of questions that you could not pass that test regardless of the number of questions it gave you. That is not an indicator of having done well. It's important to know this so you can prepare much better, develop a better study plan for your next attempt.

If you really had only 75 questions, you weren't close enough to passing to warrant more questions. If you were doing well, you would have continued to get more and more questions until you could prove competency. As it stood....you just were not. Sorry, but that is the truth of how CAT works. If you're still close, still in the running, you continue. At 75 questions....you really need to assess how to approach the next test so you aren't ruled out immediately, which is what happened this time. You cannot go with the idea that you were close enough to passing you only need to brush up, you need to reformulate your approach so you CAN be in the running, and CAN pass.

As for which test to take, as long as your BoN allows it, then I guess that's a good thing if you want to go that route.

Whichever you decide to do, good luck.

This wasn't easy to read, LOL, but if I am understanding you correcting...it still is isn't making sense. If you hold a Vermont RN licence, you can apply for an endorsement for any State you want. You will need to pay the application fees and do any additional requirements California may have that Vermont does not (CEU's, for example, differ by State), but....you DON'T take another NCLEX!

Look into the CA BoN's licensing requirements, and see what you need to do to work as an RN there.

THIS!!! No need totake another NCLEX! No need to work as LPN (because they get paid less and you won't get RN experience). You are an RN in all 50 states, you just need to do as RNsRWe said and find out how to get your license endorsed to Cali!

These may he internationally educated nurses that don't meet CABRN requirements and must return to school (they aren't eligible for licensing by endorsement or exam) before deemed eligible. They can apply to challenge the NCLEX-PN based upon their theoretically equivalent education. If they didn't meet the requirements for licensing by exam they are ineligible to endorse also. A very different scenario for US educated nurses but not different from excelsior grads trying to endorse to CA

Ah, THANK you! Should have realized this. Still shouldn't need a new NCLEX, but rather complete the schooling for California.....yes?
