1. When you stop learning as a nurse, quit, because you are dangerous!

2. Always be willing to teach someone that is willing to learn

3. Remember, sometimes you just have to tell yourself, not my circus, not my monkey and smile when that 1 patient and or family member has just stepped on your last nerve.

4. The little things are what patients and families remember, the warm blanket you just placed on their deceased loved one, because they think the loved one is cold.

5. Always remember each day is a gift, not only for you but for the patient you are caring for.

You can't please everyone, so don't take it personal .

1.Don't assume that it's already done, most likely it's not and it will come back on you!

3.Not only are you the nurse. You are the CNA, the plumber, the housekeeper, maintenance, dietary, and receptionist too.

4.Other nurses are not your friend!

5.Save your legs and put the support socks on. Varicose and spider veins appear quickly.

2.kindness goes a long way, nursing is stressful and everyone's going through a hard day

3. You don't know everything, it's ok to ask questions

5. Most of your patients really do appreciate everything you're doing and notice your effort too!

2. Be kind to your coworkers, bosses, and patients... A good attitude can make all the difference in your day.

3. Admit your weakness and don't be afraid to ask for help.

4. Don't be afraid of change, embrace it! The nursing field, hospitals, staff, etc are always changing, growing, finding new ways to do something, learn to adapt to the changes.

5. Education didn't stop when you passed your boards, always remember you have something new to learn. When you stop learning, you've stopped living.

I just have to say you guys are the best. Reading these makes my day so much better.

4. When you learn how to hold your void after 8-16hrs of shift.

5. If you think you are in a right hole until you see the urine coming out.

1. A 90 year old patient with dementia can pack a bigger punch than Mike Tysons

2. Always gown up when inserting NG tube.

3. If a patient states they have a "couple" drinks a day. ....consider CIWA

4. Always be sure the bed alarm is functioning properly.

5. Wash cloths, hot water, and a zip lock creates a quick heating pad.
