If you liked the 2016 Nurses Week giveaways, you'll love the 2017 Nurses Week Giveaways!
1. You know how your day is going to be as soon as you walk through the door and see who your working with..teamwork is essential.
2. Nursing is not only a profession its a trait.
3. Treat your patient as you would your own family member.
4. Document, document, document.. if you don't chart it -it never happened.
5. There will always be tough days and when they happen just breathe and think of your 4 days off during the week.
1. Nursing is a 24 hour job. It is ok to handoff a task to the next shift.
2. Get to know your patient. Talk to them like a friend or family member. Talk to them about you. It will help build a better rapport.
3. Feeing of doom is real! Listen to your patients.
4. It is a stressful job, take care of yourself. Find out a way to deal with stress. Burnout is real!
5. Trust your gut, believe in yourself!
1. Treat every patient like a VIP, or like your mother (:
2. Be the co worker you wish to work with
3. Always remember, this might be every day for you but its often a first for this patient and they may be terrified
4. Leave it all at the door on your way out
5. Advocate, advocate, advocate!
1. Some patients want their pain medications on the dot when they are able to have them, even when it doesn't seem like they are in pain; while other patients don't want pain medications at all, even when it seems like they are in pain.
2. No matter how long you've been a nurse, you don't know everything and there is always something new to learn.
3. Although there are doctors who are complete jerks, there are other doctors who are very, very nice. The same thing goes for patients and family members; some are awful and always complain all the time, but then it makes you grateful for the ones who are nice and friendly and seem thankful for all the work you do.
4. Many patients have amazing stories about their lives, and my favorite part of being a nurse is hearing those stories and getting to know my patients.
5. The best thing I've learned since becoming a nurse is that being a nurse is the hardest job I've ever had, but also the most rewarding.

I don't have all the answers.
Nurses learn more from their patients than their patients learn from them.
You can't make people do what they do not want to do.
We have the ability to make someones worst day a little better.
Days off are highly under rated :)
