Our workplace became very solemn today.
We got news that one of our 'old-timer' coworkers had passed on today quite unexpectedly.
She was overall healthy, working just yesterday in her usual style.
Something happened in her off hours....
She had been there since the doors first opened on the place. I knew her when I was a brand new nurse. I left, came back almost 30 years later and found her still there.
My heart is saddened.
It serves as a reminder that people and things can change in an instance.
Blessed memory Margaret and God speed.
I dread the next few days....

So sorry. Prayers and hugs. I was rehired after two years off and was going through old emails (they didn't turn off my email) and found out a nurse who had been with the facility since the beginning, and who had helped train me, had died. It's hard realizing they're not going to be walking down the hall, greeting the pts with that big smile, anymore.

It's the ones who give us the most joy and meaning who leave the biggest aches when they leave.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
Some of you say, “Joy is greater than sorrow,” and others say, “Nay, sorrow is the greater.”
But I say unto you, they are inseparable.
Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.
- The Prophet, Khalil Gibran
Sorry for your loss and hoping in time that joyful memories will eclipse your sorrow.

It will be rough at work for a few days. I worked a place where we lost a beloved co-worker. It was tough.
