Hello,
I am a december grad!!!!!! I am nopt sure when I will be able to take the NCLEX, but I am anticipating it being febuary or march. I know there are more of us out there so I figured I would start a thread for us. i noticed the nov. dec, jan, threads seem so supporyive and helpful.
I am planning on taking a review course with the state board of nursing, kaplan, and doing questions. I havnt decided if I will work as a GN while I am studying or not. so... what is everyone else doing???
hey guys! those of you who are doing kaplan, how are your scores? I am getting better, but i am still scoring around 65-67.i am thinking that if i keep doing questions, i will get better and better and eventually be able to get at least 10-15 answers correct in a row. i hate getting like 5-7 right and then miss 1 or 2. when i take the NCLEX, i want to get like 50 questions correct in a row. am i being crazy or i this realistic?????
50 correct in a row seems like too high of an expectation and not realistic for NCLEX. It's not necessary to get that many correct in a row to do good, so don't beat yourself up over that! Just keep practicing questions, I've heard good things about Kaplan.
Well my big day is tomorrow morning, I have to get up at 5:30 am so I'm not too happy about that part, but my surge of epi and norepi will get me going tomorrow!!! I'll let ya'll know how it goes down
Took a break today from Kaplan questions. I did poorly yesterday, so my hubby said to relax, "You are beating yourself up." So, I followed his advice and did some reading on maternity. I sat and did a 25 question test on the qbank around dinner time and scored a 68%, much higher than yesterday's scores. I was also able to get that "string" which was 11 right in a row. I guess I needed to step back from those questions afterall.
I will pick back up tomorrow with some more, but it won't be the 250-300 that I have been doing on a daily basis. I don't think I even have that many left in the qbank anyhow, but I do have the incorrect ones that I can do over.
Hi to all my fellow Febuary test takers. I just found this website last night during a study break and of course am now addicted to reading all the posts!!! So helpful and what a relief to know I am not alone with all the feelings of doubt, misery, anticipation, nervousness and being just plain scared to death of taking this test.
So, my date is for Feb. 7th. I didn't know what to do as far as when to take my NCLEX so went on the advice of many respected RN's and educators and am taking it as close to graduation as I could. I graduated with ADN Dec. 16. Am also working under a temp license as a preceptee on medsurg. Am now wondering if this was such a good idea as definatly not as much time to study although I am very excited to be working. I feel alot of pressure to pass the test (who doesn't) though since I have accepted this job and will lose temporary license if I you know what. Well enough from me. Just want to let all of you know I feel your pain and thanks for the helpful posts.
I have been doing the NCSBN review course (on advice from co-worker) on line for the last 8 weeks. Lots of good questions and information but not enough alternitive questions. I'll be thinking positive thoughts for everyone.
Welcome Sockeye!! I test on Feb. 5th and I was told the same thing by RN's and our professors. I do have my temp license as well, by I'm not scheduled to start until 2/11, so I know I will go to VA with a RN behind my name instead of GN. Have to be positive!!!
Good Luck on the 7th and don't forget to let us know how you did!!
