COB rollcall

Published

Hey, I am feeling giddy today. Sooooo....will ask for COB rollcall and year graduated from *first* nursing school (whether that be LPN/LVN or RN or even throw in the CNA date)...

I graduated in 1990 with my LPN. I was a CNA for at least 6 months prior to that. :)

Most of you are still babies. I graduated from IU in 1971 ADN then 1974 BSN. Been working for 44 years.

This is why I don't think I'm a COB yet. The are so many older nurses still doing it right and walking the walk, and while I am crustier than some, I'm not nearly as crusty as those I admire.

CNA 1988

RN 2011

I have no clue what that makes me.

I'm too new a nurse to really be an official COB, but I've been around long enough as a CNA (23 years!) to be rather crusty...

So what am I???

Good times: had a tech tell me I didn't know "how hard" their job was... I was thrilled to tell them I did their exact same job in the exact same facility for seven years with another 17 years elsewhere on top of it. They shut up and I felt crusty :bored:

Specializes in Oncology; medical specialty website.

Wait a minute...if you're 53y, how did you graduate from college in 1971? You would have only been 9y! Your bio says you've been working for 32y, so how can you have been working 44y? Is my math bad?

If you've got over 20y exp., you're a bat.

I've met some pretty encrusted CNAs in my time. They are scary!

You have been "through the war", as the "old" saying goes. :) Still working too! You have it going on!
