Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.

C'mon now!

Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.

C'mon now!

The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.

All together: C'mon now!!

Some things just make me shake my head.

Sub has sent the same little one to me 3 times saying he has a stomach ache and the little one upon arriving to my office says he has no idea why he was sent down. He's one of my FF, behavioral issues kiddos

I walked back with him this last time to see what was going on.

Sub: "Oh good he's going home!"

Me: "No, I am just trying to figure out why he's coming down to me. He keeps telling me he is fine and doesn't have a stomach ache."

Sub: "Oh..well he just really looks like he shouldn't be here today so that's what I put."

Me: "He's fine and should remain in class the rest of today."

C'mon now. (I also reported her to my AP, because that confirmed my feeling that she was just trying to get rid of the little one)

Parent: "I was wondering what medication my son is on currently."

Me: ::Tells him what I give here:: "Did anything change?"

Parent: "I don't think so, the new doctor asked what he was on and I forgot what it was"

Student has been on this *daily* med since kindergarten and is currently in 5th grade.

C'mon now

Principal came to check with me what to do if kid reports that private parts are itchy?!?!?

Ummmmmm, tell mom when you get home?!?!?!

Just called a parent because I am out of LD's daily medication. "Oh, didn't (insert dad's name here) call you? He was switched to extended released last week."

Nope. No one called. Would have been nice to know before the kid got an extra dose the last few days.

He's probably been extra mellow for the teacher in the afternoons.

Sent a kiddo home for vomiting. Dad came and picked her up, then called me on his way home for a note for work. I'm sorry dude, we don't give work notes...

Student completely broke earpiece off glasses last Monday (while on spring break). Brought for me to fix this morning...

I get this request every now and then - I always wonder if the parent has "truancy" issues with their job :) I have a form letter that the principal typed up and signed for me - I just make a copy and give it to the parent.

i too have a parent to two that will ask me for a work note, usually parents of my most gifted malingerers. The funny part is that I know where they work and have had other parent s work there and haven't had them ask for a note. Makes me think that the apple don't fall far from the tree when it comes to playing sick.

I have had a parent I've reached via their cell ask me if I call them via their work number instead so that their boss knows it is legit. I don't mind doing that.

We give parent notes at the Urgent Care I work at..."please excuse mom/dad for having to miss work to care for their child." And oh yea, we give out notes to both mom and dad who are present at the visit...:whistling:

Understandable, my peds office does this for parents as well. But the school giving them out...

When I arrived this morning, principal and vice principal freaking out because kid had a mild nosebleed on the bus this morning. Everything already stopped when I got here, no blood on clothing or anything so I am thinking it must not have been that bad.
