Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.
C'mon now!
Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.
C'mon now!
The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.
All together: C'mon now!!
Some things just make me shake my head.
8th grade boy:"Uhh, like I was sick yesterday? But I don't have a fever, so I'm here today? What do I have?" (literally no other information was given, about symptoms, etc).
Haha....I love this one. And dontcha just love it when someone (at anytime and anywhere) comes up to us and says- "You're a Nurse"....and then it is hard telling what the next things out of their mouth will be!!?? And most of time, I get this look on my face- Either for real or in my thought bubble >>>>>>> ( But really. I do love that people will come to me and trust me as a Nurse :)

I have a few teachers who admit to just using my nursing skills instead of going to the doctor like they should. My least favorite is the ones who bombard me at the door who obviously shouldn't be here, like when they have pink eye or when they have been coughing all night. Our district is VERY lucky and all staff has unlimited sick days, so I'm really not sure why a few feel the need to be excused by the nurse.
I also have 3 teachers who are reallly comfortable with me, so I know when they walk in I'll be checking or hearing about something only their OB should be talking with them about.

i don't mind when the staff comes in to ask me health questions. i joke that their co pay is 10 bucks, a caramel latte, or dark chocolate. Sometimes i do get paid - in chocolate of coffee

Sometimes, it is really hard for me to keep a straight face :) There is a special place in my brain that this stuff goes and NEVER comes back out.

I was sent a photo of a teacher's very swollen knee. She was on the class ski trip and fell. She was in the ER but didn't trust the doctors. "BiscuitRN, what do you think it is?" Had to put my x-ray goggles on.

I guess he decided to aim high instead of aim low?
