I'm almost 32 and just about finished my first quarter back. I will have 9 more pre reqs to take before I can apply for the program. I would love to chat with others and cheer each other on along the way. OH, and does anyone else think English 101 is kinda hard?! And why the hell does it have to be one of the 4 classes that count at my school? I'm going crazy!

I'm 31 and have 2 kiddos (8 & 3)

Started the journey of prerequisites Fall 2011.. I have been going straight through.. Even summers...(this summer thankfully I will finally have a break!!!) I've been part time since the start. This is my last semester of prerequisites.. YAY!!

I apply for my BSN RN program on May 15th in hopes to start NS on August 25th.

Hi all. Just turned 31 and finishing my last prereq, micro, this may! I'm married and we have 1 child (almost two yrs old) and a previous BS in Psychology.

Currently on the BSN - RN waitlist for summer start at my school of choice. AND applying for Fall, too, just in case ;).

Preferring the 2 year route over the accelerated so I can see my family a little more often than never ;). I currently work casual part time in Finance, and have been with the company for 11 years!!

I'm ready to set my own hours, raise my baby and love what I do. I'm done sitting behind a desk!!

Just wanted to add that I understand the feeling of wanting kids and planning them around NS. hubby and I want another so badly! But, I promised myself I would finish or at least be within a semester of graduating before we start trying. It is hard enough putting my 21 month old in daycare for the first time so mommy can be the best that she can for his future! And mine!!! :) BUT, I am so excited to be hopefully graduating before he starts kindergarten!!

I love this thread!! I will be 30 in Sept and at the end of May I will be going back to finish my pre reqs and then hope to get into Nursing school spring of 2015. I have taken psych 101 and developmental psych but still need all my other classes. I attempted to take some of them before but ended up failing out because of some personal issues. But now I am ready to do this! I will be taking intermediate algebra, college algebra, and English 101 in the summer. In the fall I am taking English 102, philosophy, statistics, and economics. I know it's going to be tough but I look forward to the challenge and a little nervous!

I'm 30, married for 7 years, 3 kids and have a BS in Communication Studies. I have all my co-requisites and pre-requisites finished and just waiting to hear back from schools about acceptance into the nursing program.

Hi all! I am 40 years old and will be starting the ABSN/EMSN program at CSULA in June. I have an undergrad in business-finance and spent 20 years working in the corporate world. In November 2012 I was finally able to convince my hubby to support me while I updated prereqs and applied to programs. Initially I told him I would go the ADN route to keep time and costs down, however he knew me better than that and insisted I pursue a MSN to become a Nurse Practitioner. If all goes well, I will have an FNP by June 2017 - Just before my 44th birthday. Cannot imagine doing anything else!

Hello:) I am 31, 32 in September and have been working on pre reqs for nursing since 2010. I started off at a University and decieded due to money and family stuff I needed to start with My AAs first... I am finishing my last semester of pre reqs and have applied to my colleges nursing program and am waiting to hear back! Nervous!!! I have a 20 month old daughter and have been in my partnered relationship for almost 9 yrs in Jan. am just ready to get this journey finished and get working so I can head back and finish my BSN as I am 1 class away from being able to apply for a BSN program, however I believe it will be a little easier to apply to a rn-bsn program then just an Rn program from the start... Less competition. LOL.. Just wanted to say hello and Good luck to everyone on their journey!!

Hello everyone I'm 30 and have 3 kids (5, 2, and 5 months). So glad I found this thread and see that I'm not the only 30+ yr old with a career change. I've been taking my pre-reqs since 2012 while working full-time, and now finally been accepted to an Accelerated BSN program. I start in May and couldn't be happier!

Best of luck to all!

About to turn 36 here... Married with 2 kiddos. I'm returning to taking pre-reqs after quite some time. So long, in fact that I have to re-take chem because it expired. :)

So happy to have found this thread. Hoping to be able to add "RN" after my name around the time I hit the big 4-0.

Omg! I honestly though that I was the only one on this boat! I'm 43, married with three grown children and waiting for letter of acceptance or else any time now (nursing school) I don't feel lonely anymore! Thank youuuuuu for being here!
