I'm almost 32 and just about finished my first quarter back. I will have 9 more pre reqs to take before I can apply for the program. I would love to chat with others and cheer each other on along the way. OH, and does anyone else think English 101 is kinda hard?! And why the hell does it have to be one of the 4 classes that count at my school? I'm going crazy!
@Polysuazo...You can not let what seems like failure to get you down...I applied several times and was flat out rejected...I didnt give up. If you truly want it ask the advisor what you can do in the mean time to make your application better...if you want it DO NOT give up. You will need tough skin for nursing school....trust me. It'll work out!!!!
I'm 34, turning 35 this summer, with three kiddos. I'm in the process of applying to an ADN program, and am planning to bridge to MSN a couple of years after finishing. I'm another career changer; I worked in research for a while before deciding that really wasn't what I want to do. I'm looking forward to beginning this next chapter of my life!
I will be 32 this Sunday. I am a married mother of 4 and have FINALLY finished all of my pre and core requisite classes! I apply next month for this fall. I feel so accomplished :)) I am also a first generation college student in my family.
Oh, and English is my strong suite. I received a 99.56 in 1101 and a 99.87 in 1102.

I'm very sad. I didn't get into my first choice, I got waitlisted again (second try) I'm not getting any younger and I'm starting to wonder if is really worth it to keep trying. Very dissapointed. I haven't told my husband how sad I am though he knows how much I want this. What would you guys do in my shoes? Help!
Hi, I am so sorry that you got wait listed. Everyone's situation is different. I'm not sure if when you first started this journey if you had a what if scenario and a back up plan. But, me personally, I'm a walk by faith person. I place all of my faith in God, so I prayed before starting this journey and I have had to pray all through this journey and The Lord has opened doors and given me opportunities each step of the way. When my prereq classes were completely closed, I was able to get in, which in my eyes were truly blessings. I have given the whole path that I feel that I have been called into in God's hands. I applied to one school, the ONLY school I feel that is the school I should go to and most people when they hear that I only applied to one school, they think that I am crazy. I have prayed for God's will to be done in my life and my career path. If it is His plan and will, I will get accepted into the program this time around, if it's not His plan for me to be a nurse, then I won't get accepted and I won't try again. But that is just me and my situation. But since you asked what we would do, I thought I'd share my situation with you. You would have sit down and think about what's best for you. Good luck with whatever choice you make. I hope and pray that everything works out for you :)

Thank you so much for your words. I do run by faith too and in fact, that's what has taken me this far. I do have a backup plan though, because I'll be a nurse, and there other paths to my goal.

You are very welcome :) who knows, maybe this maybe your first choice, but maybe not the school that's meant for you, but if it is meant for you, you will get accepted. If nursing is something you truly feel is for you, you will continue to press on and not give up. Whatever you do, try not to let this one school get you down, especially if you applied to others. Just take one day at a time, I know it is much easier said than done :) keep us posted!

Just wanted to drop by and say "Hi!" to everyone. Love reading all of your posts. Very inspiring :)
I'm 38 and almost done with my pre-reqs (3 more classes to go). Initially intended on going the ADN route, but am now contemplating on transferring into a BSN program hopefully this Fall semester.
Transitioning back into school was difficult, but totally worth it. I am usually one of the oldest, if not oldest out of all my cohorts. I'm proud to say that age doesn't matter. I made the Dean's List my first semester. Not bad for someone that hasn't been in a school setting for 17 years. Build a solid foundation and work ethic before the nursing program and you will excel with flying colors. The sky's the limit :)
Good luck and best wishes to everyone!
I am 32 and have four kids. I am from San Antonio, Texas and will be staring my prereq's this fall. Thinking if possibly getting a class or two started this Summer. It has taken so long to get to this point and I am so excited. The timing just hasn't been right for one reason or another but now it's my time! I am a little apprehensive on which direction to go. It seems like there are so many different routes. I hear from some go
ADN and others go BSN. Every time I think I know which direction I want to go I feel like I read something else that makes me doubt which way to go. I am going to speak with an advisor in a few days so helpfully that puts to rest some of my anxiety over which program to choose. Does anyone else feel this way or how did you choose which way you decided to go? Thanks for reading. Sorry so long!
I personally started with ASN and was going to work for a little while then go back and do rn to BSN. As I wasn't accepted I am thinking of doing a surgery tech program and then retake my ap as I obtained a C in the course in 2016 and try at a BSN program because as it stands I am only 1 class away from applying to a BSN program but I am 31 almost 32 with a 2 yr old little girl and I can't wait until next fall to reapply so surg tech here I come. Good luck!
