I was working at a surgical clinic for animals years ago and a scrub nurse came in with her ferret and told me she had a man that was in for foreign object removal from his orifice. She then emphasizes it was a very large toy that the patient placed and got stuck and the surgeon asked her to remove it. She says to him that's why you make the big bucks buddy! I was like wow at the time I wS 19 lol
  2. I'm going to 32:)
  3. Thanks I hope so to.
  4. Retake policy is that they will combine both grades. In which I would not get better then a B for the class. If I'm not accepted I will reapply next yr if I am not already in a program.
  5. The policy is they interview everyone who meets min requirements. There was not an application fee for the program. I have called and emailed and left messages with no return. I was going to go down there today and they were taking Kaplan tests so the asst was unavailable.
  6. I'm very frustrated. I met the minimum requirements for the nursing program I applied for and never received an interview letter. Then my professor comes to talk to me and tells me she doesn't understand why I was not invited to interview as well. Ugh did they lose my application? I have emailed and called the nursing department which has gotten me no where. I'm very frustrated because now they have all been picked and I haven't even got a denial letter.
  7. I personally started with ASN and was going to work for a little while then go back and do rn to BSN. As I wasn't accepted I am thinking of doing a surgery tech program and then retake my ap as I obtained a C in the course in 2016 and try at a BSN program because as it stands I am only 1 class away from applying to a BSN program but I am 31 almost 32 with a 2 yr old little girl and I can't wait until next fall to reapply so surg tech here I come. Good luck!
  8. Thanks:) I just didn't apply anywhere else. My one AP class I received a "b" in lab and a "c" in lecture and I have a "c" in philosophy otherwise done well mostly A's and few B's. Just wondering even if I did retake the ap and made an A they would average them both:/ so it's not worth it. I know I would be am amazing nursing but I wasn't even given a chance for them to ask me.
  9. Waiting on my denial letter as they have sent out and been received by others for an interview. I feel broken and let down..... I'm running out of money to keep taking classes to up my gpa. At this point I'm thinking of giving up.
  10. So they sent second round of interview letters out and out of 8 people in my AP class I was the only one who did not receive one:( my heart is broken. At this point I'm just waiting for the denial letter.
  11. I have been in my relationship for 9 yrs almost and I feel like if me attending nursing school is going to " ruin" my relationship then I am better off without her! I love her to pieces but this is something I NEED to do for my future and our daughter's future!! So in response to you, take it from someone who WAS married young, I was divorced young as well and trust me if he can't make it through 1 more yr of nursing school, then he certainly will not be able to handle marriage, children, and work. Once these things kick in your time isn't yours anymore, it is shared with children and other obligations where time spent will be made and not just there freely. Good luck!!
  12. LOL I am NOT calling them but I AM checking the mail to get my interview letter( I am hoping)!!! some letters already went out and their interviews are set for April 8th so I am now freaking thinking what if they aren't going to interview me. It does make me feel a little at ease as other's ( younger women) haven't recieved one either. Does that make me evil?! LOL:)
  13. I am applied at the college I attend hoping to hear something soon. If I don't get in I will finish my last class of dev psych and a chemistry class and apply for a bsn program ( which was my first intent) . I go to nashville state also attended austin peay but left due to a hard pregnancy....
  14. Hello:) I am 31, 32 in September and have been working on pre reqs for nursing since 2010. I started off at a University and decieded due to money and family stuff I needed to start with My AAs first... I am finishing my last semester of pre reqs and have applied to my colleges nursing program and am waiting to hear back! Nervous!!! I have a 20 month old daughter and have been in my partnered relationship for almost 9 yrs in Jan. am just ready to get this journey finished and get working so I can head back and finish my BSN as I am 1 class away from being able to apply for a BSN program, however I believe it will be a little easier to apply to a rn-bsn program then just an Rn program from the start... Less competition. LOL.. Just wanted to say hello and Good luck to everyone on their journey!!
